I can believe someone of a rich background can need Patreon. Some people don't actually have many resources, others actually have reasonable parents who aren't going to give them support beyond an age. And there's the people whose families actually lost everything they had in recent times and entered poverty.

Not a single one of these explanations justifies Brianna Wu having a Patreon that maybe is being used for illegal transactions and the truth's being hidden by the unlawful couple, of course, but I wasn't talking about self-important jerks anyway.

Hatman of gamergate subreddit Kotakuinaction says he's gonna be talking to Brianna on a livestream in 25 minutes about his thoughts on Rev 60 (I believe he streamed himself playing it earlier today):

Hat Deux streamed himself playing the iOS version somehow and Wu showed up (coincidentally right when I showed up after following a link on /gamergate/. Weird). Wu was actually civil but she seemed more focused on Hats reaction and pretty much ignored everyone except Hats until his playthrough ended. After Hats left she asked "Does anyone have any questions for me?" and considering there were over 400+ people viewing the stream I didn't feel like seeing the chat scroll like crazy.

https://www.youtube.com/user/TheHatDeux

Some things worth pointing out.
- Hats has beaten the game twice. This was his second playthrough.
- For the sake of the livestream he played on "Girlfriend" mode which is the hardest difficulty.

Hats biggest problem was the dialogue and story. The game is supposed to have extensive lore and assumes you know it. The only time you get access to bits of information seemed to be during loading screens and they were only a sentence or two long. The info given seemed totally random so Hats was getting important info regarding the setting and story in loading screens WAY after they were pertinent to what was happening to the story. He pointed this out repeatedly and Wu said he should buy the book with provides all the information needed to fully understand the setting. Chat didn't like this. For a game that's supposed to be story-driven you have to purchase a book to understand it. At the end of the gaming Hats was shouting "I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT REVOLUTION 60 IS" to which Wu replied with "It's Crimson's plan". Not a very good explanation. When Hats was saying how he has no idea what was going on Wu said something along the lines of "you say you don't understand the story but you keep talking over the dialogue lol" which is funny because I don't think she knew this was Hats' second playthrough.

Despite playing on the hardest difficulty he managed to beat it in three hours. Although to be fair I imagine difficulty doesn't affect play length very much since if you lose all your health you're met with a scene of the main character injecting herself with nanites and getting right back into the fight with the boss just as injured as when you left them. Hats said that Girlfriend difficulty was slightly funner because it became challenging enough to be engaging. He said combat was the best part while making it clear he didn't really care too much for it. Wu said "Admit it. You had fun" multiple times through the stream, putting a bit of pressure on him. He finally answered her straight up and said it was really only fun because he was playing while talking to his audience, then compared it to playing a game he hated with a group of friends and that making it fun. He put it much more politely than the way I said it. Wu also likes to put references in the game that I doubt most people would get. There was a really lame line about using benzos to deal with pain and Wu explained that it was a line originally from the script of Aliens 3 that got scrapped. Hats noted that the game had quite a few references that only served to break the flow of dialogue and make things confusing.

So yeah, Wu is targeting the most narrow and possibly contradictory audience in gaming history
- For casual games yet story driven.
- Story driven yet requires a $5 purchase of a book to understand the setting.
- Aimed for new gamers but suffers from really obscure or random science fiction references in the middle of supposedly important dialogue.
- Built with women in mind but it's about women in skin-tight outfits and miniskirts in space who have insane body-types. Wu has admitted that most of the effort put into character models was the hair. Did I mention that these women seem to hate each other, argue the entire damn game, and each has their own motives that undermines at least one of the others?

It's obvious who this game was really made for: Brianna Wu. She has stated that all the female characters are supposed to be parts of her personality and I believe this because none of them are likable. When the game ends you don't care about the outcome because you don't care about any of the main cast. This is Brianna's Sonichu except without the good writing.

This is just pathetic. Sad, petty, desperate, immature, and pathetic. Looming said it best: It's obvious that Brianna is trying to incite some hatred that she can screencap so she can post it on Twitter and cry about her soggy knees while linking to her Patreon. Not to mention that she's been censoring everything even remotely negative up until this point so obviously some people are going to be riled up. People don't give enough of a shit about her to give her any ammo so she's taken to manufacturing posts that "threaten" her.

You know what, Brianna? I'll bite. You are a terrible person. Not because you're trans, or because you're a woman, or because you're apparently the only female game dev in the entire universe (according to yourself, anyway). It's because:
  • You have the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old who's been heavily sheltered and never been criticized before.
  • You waste all of your time- time that could be spent actually focusing on your career and company- picking fights and then running away from them when things get too real for you.
  • You make a complete mockery of women in the game industry.
  • You censor any and all voices that don't tell you exactly what you want to hear.
  • Nobody gave you a single iota of thought before you aggressively shoehorned yourself into GamerGate despite literally no one mentioning you; even when you started crying about being targeted, you still refused to do sane thing and log off of Twitter and let people forget about you (which would have taken five minutes) despite supposedly being "in danger."
  • You're extremely selfish and never talk about anyone other than yourself; what about the women who work for you and who actually, you know, made the game you steal all the credit for? What about your husband, who contributed far more to the game than you ever did? What about the women you claim are being silenced? Why can't you talk about them for once?
  • It's obvious that you come from an incredibly wealthy family and yet you continue to beg people for Patreon money that you don't actually need.
  • You refuse to acknowledge any other women in the gaming industry, instead painting them as victims so your own accomplishments look big in comparison.
  • You claim to speak for women everywhere despite living the vast majority of your life as a very wealthy white male. And even though you are a woman now, you still can't speak for all of us. No woman can, because women are not a collective hivemind. We all have our own thoughts and feelings and thinking that you can speak for such an incredibly huge, diverse group of people is just asinine.
  • You think that you can just bully people into submission by shaming them on Twitter and having your white knights take care of them.
  • You refuse to address legitimate criticism, claiming that they're just flames and that your game is already perfect.
  • You paint everyone who disagrees with or dislikes you as a misogynistic gamerbro neckbeard, despite it being painfully clear that you're just strawmanning.
  • You tell people what they can and cannot do (the whole "you can't mod my game" thing for example), acting like you're the foremost authority on everything.
  • Have I mentioned how pathetic you are?
Wow, that was a lot. But yeah, Brianna, you're a huge bitch and I do not like nor would I ever have sex with you. You can post this on Twitter for pity points, but just be warned, I've had a vagina longer than you have so I think your white knights may favor me more.

I don't even care if this seems A-Loggy, I'm just done with this charlatan.

I so wish I could rate this post more than just winner, and I hope Tran Wu does see it he needs this told to him as much as possible.

so Hats was getting important info regarding the setting and story in loading screens WAY after they were pertinent to what was happening to the story. He pointed this out repeatedly and Wu said he should buy the book with provides all the information needed to fully understand the setting.

"This is not my job to educate you!"

Hats said that Girlfriend difficulty was slightly funner because it became challenging enough to be engaging.

"Girlfriend difficulty"? WTF?
Does Wu really think basement dwellers would imagine his Bratz doll Mary Sues to be their girlfriends?!

He said combat was the best part while making it clear he didn't really care too much for it. Wu said "Admit it. You had fun" multiple times through the stream, putting a bit of pressure on him.

Mansplaining.

There was a really lame line about using benzos to deal with pain and Wu explained that it was a line originally from the script of Aliens 3 that got scrapped.

Don't you think there's a good reason that line got scrapped, Mr. Wu?

Did I mention that these women seem to hate each other, argue the entire damn game, and each has their own motives that undermines at least one of the others?

SJWs in a nutshell. The only credit I can give to Wu is that he actually wrote what he knew.

That's why when people say they don't like the game, Wu feels as if he is attacked personally. "You don't like me" is as traumatic as it gets for some sheltered rich cunt.

"Girlfriend difficulty"? WTF?
Does Wu really think basement dwellers would imagine his Bratz doll Mary Sues to be their girlfriends?!

The Girlfriend mode is supposed to be a dig at how someone at Gearbox described a new class in Borderlands 2 that was supposed to be more friendly towards new players aka "Girlfriend mode". So yeah, another reference in the game that Wu expects people to understand just because she does.

Because modding=porn. I guess mods for other games like Mount & Blade and Skyrim were all sexual in nature. Seriously, I think Wu just doesn't want anyone trying to make some "fan-made" alteration to her work. By that, I mean she thinks it's perfect and some guy replacing the sounds of the weapons is just vandalism to her mediocre game.

PLS NO MOD.
This is just going to make more people make porn of her game.
Remember when one of the Devs of Bioshock wanted people to stop making porn of Elizabeth because she's like a daughter to him?
That just caused even more people to make SFMs porn of Elisabeth out of spite.
Considering that, Wu may as well have condemned her characters into being used for something she would utterly blame GamerGate for, saying that they and definitely not trolls or those that don't bother with a consumer revolt are trying to hurt her work.

>lfw brianna say in the stream that she love anime

LIES FROM A WITCH, ONLY HERESY COME FOR YOUR MOUTH

also his voice is weird

Hat has spaghetti coming out of his pockets a bit but I don't think he was ready for an interview with a lolcow. When he pointed out that the story was difficult to follow and info being thrown at the player doesn't connect, she said it seems normal for "geek males" to pick things apart and look for plot holes. I understand what she's saying but she means lore nerds, Hat was talking about BASIC story. Yeah, so her response to her story not making sense is "Because you're a man".

Why has nobody dealing with Wu ever heard of the 13th amendment? It's illegal to own bitches like this nowadays.

Dear god, just tell her you didn't like the game.

Hat isn't built for interviews but by letting Wu talk as much as she wanted we got to hear some stupid and insane reasoning. She says she's in it for the money yet made a game she thought she'd like. She actually disregarded reoccurring complaints from play testers so she could have her vision. Not saying that's wrong but it's risky. Especially when your game already lifts from bigger titles that do those things better.

Well most of the flak that came from options Wu actually cares about (SJWs) was about the model designs.

So this makes sense from his point of view, after all the game wasn't made for "core gamers" but for a more...nebulous market.

I dunno, he said at some point in the stream that he wants to more appeal to, I believe, "core" gamers, based on the negative reception on steam. But I think that has to do with following the money, than anything else.
