Well, they're never photographed with toys are they? It's always just them being dirty or with a doggie fence. It wouldn't kill Wu to take them all to the groomers for puppy cuts... But maybe the local groomers give out report cards, and she doesn't want to be mansplained to why she's a horrible pet owner.

I know it's ridiculous to ask at this point but why is Brianna speaking on this subject? She has never designed or done any work on VR, she has no credentials to indicate that she understands the technology behind VR, and furthermore she has only one real game to her name at this point. While it is absurd that she flew across the country for a 20 minute talk on a subject she isn't qualified to speak on, what I find equally baffling is that the event organizers couldn't find anyone on the West Coast who could speak on the subject.

Really Brianna? Lazy? As if it is up to the companies to go out of their way to contact qualified women who don't even bother applying even when they already have enough applications from qualified men who somehow managed to send a CV and fill in an application form?
But I guess in order to know how job applications work you must have some work experience in the first place other than "Owner of a useless company paid by mommy, daddy, sugardaddy and patreonbux"

If you see Brianna Wu on a speakers list you can pretty much conclude the event organizers are so incompetent and unqualified themselves that they can't find a real speaker and have to resort, instead, to bringing in a walking freakshow from the opposite end of the continent.

This really shows how privileged she is, and for once I'm using that word unironically. Having gotten every single one of her professional opportunities from "networking", of course she'd think that's the most important thing for women in tech. She'd probably be clutching her pearls if she ever found out that the plebs just have to throw their resumes into the pile and pray for a call back.
EDIT: and come to think of it, has Wu ever even conducted a legitimate hiring search, or was every single one of her "employees" just someone she knew?

Actually supposedly they can't find anyone male or female to fill nice jobs all the time. Half of tech is just recruiters looking and just about half or more of the recruiters are women. Also I know wu probably doesn't know much other than big gaming studios and her circle of friends but it's normal for a recruiter to spend one or even part of the second interview explaining what it is that the company does. Like I have an opinion on like 1% of all the tech companies out there and barely even know the rest exist. How is a woman going to decide they're sexist.
Even if they did cry me a river like like half of america has never worked anything except jobs they hate.. if they're sexist change it but money is money. I'd personally rather work at a company that thinks I'm dumb and has a beer keg in the break room than a company that thinks I'm a fucking idiot for even working there and measures the time I spend shitting.

Not actually. However, having a quota or making it a controlling criterion for a hire is definitely illegal.
It's pretty infuriating to watch this dude, who routinely squanders hundreds of thousands of dollars of other people's money while begging for more on the Internet, accomplishing sweet fuck-all except getting to play dress-up as a "woman in tech," complaining about the price of a fucking soft drink.

Err... No. It's because the patriarchy conditions women to make those choices. There is a complex series of hidden messages thrown at us every day that tricks us into thinking we're making decisions on our own but really we're just following our programming. Only if you buy into feminism will you see the truth. Only by following all of feminism's tenets will you be able to make actual choices in your life (as long as they only offend white men).

Is Wu complaining that the industry isn't aggressively head hunting women? I don't see what's wrong with that. The only people who get head hunted are the top 1%. Not that Wu would understand as he's been handed everything he's achieved in his life and doesn't know that for the rest of us success is a grind and if you just sit around waiting to be picked up, you're going to be left behind. It is not the responsibility of the company to find good candidates to employ. It is the responsibility of women to chase after the jobs they want.
Statements like this are actually incredibly damaging to anyone who takes them seriously. What Brianna is sawing is "Women, don't put effort into getting a job because if that company isn't calling you up with job offers they're being sexist. You just sit down and wait until a job is handed to you. Support my patreon."
If women in tech want to be head hunted they need to do it the same way men do: by being the very best in their field. That's fair. That's equality.

Freelancers, was working with a team doing 3D work on them today, some were Macs.
Obviously you wouldn't render a hollywood movie on one but it's not unusual at all.
They do, the fans and airflow are actually really well designed. Only "The New Macbook" is fanless and isn't a pro machine in the slightest.

Wu's move is smart, but as always, her execution sucks. I have no idea what this woman speaks about, or why she is considered an expert in anything. This coming from a person who has watched all of her speaking gigs with a critical eye. She is way too all over the place, I know, shocking. Speakers tend to have a particular topic they are called upon to discuss. Wu is not experienced enough to be an expert game dev, nor is she a real victim, so those engagements will fall away quickly. Where she is at today? As I pointed out, most people attending can become a speaker if they push enough, and the outcome is a free pass to the event. No cash, no travel. You can network for free at the event and speak.
I'll be watching later on the live steam. Get your BS in order, Wu. I know FOR SURE you are reading this (GG gave my Google talk all the negative ratings... Of course. Why didn't your 50k follower base on Twitter come to your rescue and counter with good ratings..hmmm?)
