To be fair, there is some really creepy, fucked up shit on the internet, and there's a lot of disgusting shit online groups get up to.
For example:
If we came out in support of, say, a pedophile, whose actions and words we blindly defended because he or she agreed with our political affiliations, that would be cause for shame.
If we promoted a con artist just because the game they were running on the public paid lip service to a cause we believe in, that would be cause for shame.
If we defended censorship, harassment, corruption, nepotism, fear-mongering, and the continued desecration of free speech because it served our goals, that would be cause for shame.
If we claimed that by virtue of being hated by certain groups, we were victims who were immune to criticism for our own faults and misdeeds, that would be cause for shame.
If we decided that a particular gender or ethnic group was evil, and worked nonstop to publicly shame them, that would be cause for shame.
Thank God they can claim moral high ground on this. Otherwise, they'd be sickening hypocrites.
