If I had to hazard a guess, it's because Wu wanted to limit the exposure the farms would get. There's a lot of info, between posts here and the wiki, that directly punches Wu's precious narrative in the proverbial groin, and to a message-controlling individual like Wu, that simply will not do.

I imagine that her thought process went something along the lines of, 'Oh, I can use this thread as a way to show how much I'm being attacked online!'

So after almost a year there are 8,200 posts in this thread with at least 10 people regularly adding to it and probably 20+ more casually jumping in every now and again. Most likely way more than that.

With out combined efforts and a few more months we may actually be able to reach the same amount of tweets she makes within a two month period.
