So, with Revolution 60 being around 700mb, I decided to take a look at the games I own and see what's either lower or in the same ballpark. I think it could be a fun game for everyone here and will allow you to have some perspective on what sort of mess that game is going to be.

Legend of Grimrock is 720mb. It's an outstanding, old school dungeon crawler that I highly recommend if you liked games like Pool of Radiance or Eye of the Beholder. Here are a couple of screenshots for comparing it to Rev60:

EDIT: For some reason, I can't get spoiler tags working on my phone. Sorry.

Sorry if this question has been answered, but what happens to the Patreon now that the game seems to be getting released and with nothing else in the pipeline?

The patreon is for paying someone to help Wu deal with harassment so its never going to end while the idiots still donate. Wu never even uses it though, he's made "up to 3" patron-only posts apparently (site's own words) and the rest that I've seen are automated monthly thank yous.

I love games like that one. Really should try it given that I'm a massive EOB-fag.

One thing that confuses me is how blind the Godzilla of Tech is to the games industry. You're really only going to make money on mobile with games that hit you up for microtransactions. And if you're aiming for the PC market, the game needs to be deeper and relatively cheap to get by in the indie world.

Wu picked the worst case scenario. A game that doesn't really cater toward mobile or PC yet had a relatively large budget.

As shown with her discussion of what the rating for her game would be, Brianna never once thought about who the target audience would be for her game in the three to four years she's been working on it. Despite her rant during the Steam Workshop debacle about how it's meant for "neogamers" or whatever, I think Brianna actually believed that women would naturally flock to her game because it has women in it. You know, because that's the sort of shallow thing she would do.

This is a game built for an audience of one.

This. Wu also seems to know shit about Steam and how responsive sales are to consumer feedback. It's a place where you can get some really thought out reviews from another gamer. The fact that reviews inform you how many hours someone has put into the game they're reviewing or if they had early access or a copy given to them also helps a ton. It offers a safe level of transparency so you know the person isn't speaking out of their ass completely. At the same time if someone has 1k+ hours in a game you should probably ignore their review because they obviously have autism.

It's possible if you are willing to invest in a ROM dumper and custom flash cart imitations of actual game cartridges. Given what we know, I don't doubt Flynt wouldn't piss away money on that just for gamer cred.

Not that anyone with a brain gives a flying fuck about these copyright issues, but anyone who would have otherwise felt guilty about pirating Rev 60 should disregard that thought because John Flynt does what he wants, cause a pirate is free. He is a pirate!

Do it.

Gotta warn you though, it might make you dislike spiders. Like, a lot.

More so than the Giant Spiders and their Poison of infinite annoyance in Eye of the Beholder? Not likely.

This. It's an ego project, pure and simple.

It'll join Sunset in the pile of over-promoted nonsense.

Congratulations, John.
Releasing a horribly-written, poorly-optimized game 2 years late, with 10 failed deadlines all because of plain fucking laziness.
Congratulations.

We'll just have to wait a 2 or 3 days to find out.
It will, of course, be salty as all fuck.

My guess is Wu claims to be making another game that will of course never get released but gives her something to use as her claim to still being in the industry.

I mean this is a person who is carrying on the facade of having a bunch of employees.

Pretty awesome how none of the asspatters seem to give a rat's ass about what John's "team" is going to do now with no projects in the pipeline.

Cupkek Crisis doesn't count because seriously.
When's the last time Brianna has even mentioned Cupcake Crisis? I bet it's been at least a year.

Doesn't really matter. Simpsons did it.

People wondering about cupcake crisis and project gogo let me tell you what happened to those two projects

Cupcake crisis: this project was made when her animator and programmer were still full committed to giant spaceshit as you can remember it still uses the praying mantis design of john the game died when the programmer was fired and the animator needed to feed her family because revolution 60 failed spectacularly

Project gogo: this stupidity was John trying to create some kind of VR SDK and platform, the main objective was to create a environment where the headset could detect emotions and portrayed it into the game, Gogo is one of the proof that john never ever mention his massive failures to the point that he has not mentioned it in years, one of the reasons he never speak of it is his failure to get the money, he tried with VC and failed remember we are talking about someone that cant even use normal VR, and only has one massive failure of a game in his CV

TL;DR Both projects are dead and John is preparing himself to jump ship and swim to another one to sink it

I predict a week of ranting about how people hate (him) women's in tech and yadda yadda with the obligatory rage delete of R60 from steam

It's gonna be Cuckcake Crysis after the bloom effects force it to halt rendering 20% in.
