Money is still a part of it but not in the way that it is for traditional developers. Wu wants the game to make money, but as a property she can market to larger companies (somehow) or so that it makes enough for her to be able to pay others to create stuff under the prestigious Giant Spacekat name. Kind of like how the SOCCON novel was going to spiral into a TV series, commercial deals, movies, etc. This was never about the money for Wu, its all for their ego.
John wouldn't see it that way, to him any success is good success. While you are right it was never about money, John-boy honestly believes that any press is good press and if there's no press make shit up.I hope this game is extremely successful. Successful as a bad joke game like Bad Rats. If the game sells poorly nothing will really change, people won't know about the game like they already don't know about it. If it gets horribly shredded by reviews Wu will just blame Gamergate harassment and get more pity points. If the game becomes infamous and spread around Wu won't be able to escape the fact they're a joke. Wu's ego would be destroyed if they got famous for making a game everyone laughs at. Even if it makes money because people gift it around it wouldn't matter. This was never about the money for Wu, its all for their ego.
So Wu didn't do any research or some kind of cost calculation beforehand, but asks people on twitter what they would pay for a game, she is (allegedly) about to upload to steam any minute now. I think even a child with a lemonade stand has better entrepreneurial instincts than Wu...
Well if Rev 60 takes 4 hours to complete I would fine with being paid about 200 dollar to complete it.

To be honest I would actually like to see more games developed by Wu in the wake of the "success" of Rev 60 if only to see this crazycharadescam go on.
It won't happen, I'm sorry to say. Wu has burned almost every single bridge she has built in the games industry at this point.
While I do like this notion, I have to say, the less people are exposed to this shit, the better.I hope this game is extremely successful. Successful as a bad joke game like Bad Rats. This game is 200K to 300K in the hole. It's not gonna make that up on Steam sales.

Let the man dream, Badges. Let the man dream...It won't happen, I'm sorry to say. Wu has burned almost every single bridge she has built in the games industry at this point.
I'm sure a few do, but they'll fear the unsubscribe button and down vote more.I don't know what is a more fitting end for Rev60, selling 10 copies and vanishing into the abyss or becoming the bad joke that someone mentioned earlier, every Lets Player on youtube ripping it a new asshole.
Somehow I still think most LPers care about their standing among the SJ crowd enough to avoid the game like the plague rather than bash it, but who knows. It would be pretty amazing to see everyone tearing the game to shreds to read the inevitable chimpout tweets.
I don't know if we'd get anything funny out of a total flop, just denial about how poorly it sold or twisted stats ("best selling game in the past 4 hours!" or something).
