Erm. Wu, traditionally in Britain, the Left were against bits of the free market, preferring a more mixed economy that utilised aspects of Capitalism and Socialism. Nobody that called themselves Left Wing should actually SUPPORT the status quo in Europe. Also, her talk of house prices are hilarious, the BBC has figures on their site that suggests house prices will be LOWER over the next few years following the Leave vote.

So, Flynt is saying that the built in Ethernet on the mobo didn't have any drivers in the Windows install? Dafuq? I've never heard of the integrated Ethernet not working right out of the box on motherboards, and requiring a separate driver install. It's not like mobo manufacturers use proprietary NIC drivers or anything. It's like saying we need to install separate drivers for the built in USB ports.
And, YES, John... the BIOS automagically works on default! If it doesn't then the build won't post upon the first startup.

Why does John keep going on and on about the fucking BIOS. I'm sure it's been brought up, but first of all, it's not even technically BIOS anymore, it's UEFI. And secondly, what would really need configuration? It's not like the 90s where you had to tell the computer how many sectors the hard drive had or screw around with COM ports. Even back in those days you set it once, and that was pretty much it.

Yes, lets look at Apple in the 90s. System 7? Mac OS 8? Mac OS 9? Bomb bomb bomb crash bomb. You had to obsessively mash save because anything you did probably would bomb the OS. If it wasn't for the Toaster no one would have willingly put up with that crap. Macs just didn't work.

The school district near me, due to a staffer in the tech department who was convinced Macs were totally the future you guys, bypassed an upgrade IBM was offering for the school computers at the time (basically modernizing them to PS/1s for free) and instead upgraded the middle school to gen-1 Macs. Behold, an computer that doesn't have the RAM to run the cut/paste option in its own paint program, has no one who can fix the things in-district, and required extensive new hardware. And hardware for the hardware. For fuck's sake.
You want to use a CD at all? You need a special Optical Disc container that the CD fits into, because fuck you.
And this was just for like 4 schools. It was a massive boondoggle that cost the district millions. Which of course means that Wu was the sort of shithead who would have been championing a decision like this at the time.
