I wondered how such a clown managed to debate such big name breadtubers. I think his strategy is as follows: Get his brainded followers to spam their reddits and discords demanding a debate. When they accept yell at them and deepthroat the mic screaming shit like “YOU JUST GOT DOMINATED I JUST DESTROYED YOU” until they leave. Proclaim victory.

Granted a lot of Breadtube types deserve this treatment but it does not convince any neutral observers why your position is right
 
Lance from The Serfs debated JF Gariepy on socialism versus capitalism. I have not listened through it yet, but I already question why Lance would think this was a good idea. Every time I heard him talk, he sounded like a midwit at best, an imbecile at worst.

Yes, but not in the way he thinks. These sorts of posts from the Tankie are the result of the cognitive dissonance created by a movement that the government and media establishments fully and unequivocally supports, but which have to pretend to be against the government to maintain credibility.

Its more that dark money pushes people who are true believers to the forefront. They can't pivot away because they know the money will dry up, and they are beholden to unknown or semi known actors. The result is the same but the levels of obfuscation keeps anything from happening.

I guess it's more of a combination of Operation Mockingbird and COINTELPRO now, but that apparatus of media-state-intelligence power is using left-wing groups to put down right-wing ones. They use dark money to pay broadcasters and writers to promote stories they want, and infiltrate CIA-trained journos (see: Anderson Cooper) into high positions on networks and in syndicated newspapers to promote an agenda amenable to all parties involved. It's so much of an open secret that Carl Bernstein reported on it in the 1970s, and named some of the exact same news outlets people have trouble with today: The New York Times, Time Magazine, and CBS.

It's not far off to assume that New Media like YouTube and other broadcasting sites is equally as infiltrated, especially given the draconian enforcement of party-line dialogue in today's political climate.

Again though, the trouble here is that the man in the screenshot complaining about this is a part of the political class which benefits from their meddling. He's only upset because someone else who parrots his ideology is getting the payoff, not him.

Difference is he isn't changing his style and message to compete with them. He needs to sacrifice his principles or get wise to the grift. It's such a crab bucket.

I don't even know how many are true believers or how many are just parrots following fads. Some of the "anti-sjw" youtubers pivoted to fantasy socialism when GG petered out. A fantasy world view that promotes doing nothing except supporting the establishment is as big business as funko pops for the exact same demographic, millenial "children" wanting their 90's childhood to never end. Reminds me of Qanon but for millenials.

These channels are gargantuan and are watched by normies, and this is in part thanks to not being dedicated to shilling anti-capitalism so blatantly. Some of them might not even be anti-capitalist; I seem to recall Contrapoints saying she is not sold on it.

An adjacent group consists of smaller video essayists who usually do media critique. They are similar to the previous group in everything but audience size. Innuendo Studios, Jack Saint, and Maggie Mae Fish would be examples.

Another cluster is the debate bros: Destiny, Vaush, SDL, Xanderhal, Demon Mama, Dylan Burns, and the like. They are represented mainly on Twitch, and they range from anarchists to social democrats. These people tend to alienate everybody who is not a debate bro like them because their way of engaging is inherently hostile.

Yet another cluster I cannot pin down exactly. They are some combination of non-Anglos, theory nerds, and Marxist-Leninists: Hakim, Yugopnik, The Finnish Bolshevik, Luna Oi, NonCompete, BadEmpanada, Xexizy, and Anarchopac. This is the group that is most concerned with class issues.

There is also a smaller and disjointed kind of r/stupidpol medley: Caleb Maupin, Infrared, Peter Coffin. Barely anybody likes or watches them. It remains to be seen if this company grows either in members or in views.

Then there are the hyperwoke: EssenceOfThought, ALeviCalledBird, Lily Simpson, and I cannot recall any more. This is the group most concerned with trans and disability issues. I do not ever see them growing big or increasing in numbers because these people are zealots with negative charisma.

There are also two groups that do not interact much with the rest because they are not truly ‘of YouTube’: dirtbag leftist podcasters and the old radio hosts. Chapo Trap House, Cum Town, and Red Scare would be examples of the former; The Majority Report, The Jimmy Dore Show, and The David Pakman Show would be examples of the latter.

There are other people who are widely enjoyed online but are not themselves YouTubers™: Krystal Ball from Rising, Ben Burgis, Nathan J. Robinson, Richard Wolff, Zizek, and the like. Kyle Kulinski started on YouTube, but his content is more like that of radio hosts, and so I tend to also consider him as belonging to this group.

I thought ‘Krystal Ball’ was not her birth name, but it is. Incredible.

Have I covered everybody? Are there any more groups? I believe the leftist sphere of YouTube will continue to be differentiated among these lines. And these lines make sense to me, as they separate people peddling quite different content.

P. S. There are also some old-school channels I did not bother to bring up because nobody cares about them: Kristi Winters, Kevin Logan, Milo Stewart, Riley J. Dennis, and the like. There are also channels covering social issues with a leftie bent, like channels about African-American, women’s, or LGBTQ issues, but I would struggle to describe them as ‘the leftie YouTube’.

Lance was as much of an idiot as he usually is. JF previously argued with SDL about this same topic, and if Lance had any interest in having a conversation, he could have found JF’s talking points there. JF has been talking about eugenics and ancapistan since I first heard him speak.

Kind of unrelated but I would love to see loawhy86 go toe to toe in a debate with a shit stain like infrared. He actually lived in China and knows how this state propaganda works to flood the internet with disinformation and bot accounts.

Edit: It is funny though that Infrared has clearly adopted this same shitty wolf warrior tactic that makes Chinese officials and diplomats embarrass themselves constantly like a 12 year-old acting tough on the internet.

Ha true he isn't even a paid shill, that's hilarious. I've been giving him a good listen lately because I find myself interested in his community and how genuine they actually are or whether they are just a bunch of low level trolls. I wonder what happens if you mention Tiannamen Square on their discord. Probably concentration camp temporary ban where you have to perform self criticism and do hard labour spamming breadtubers until they deem you re-educated.

Edit: Infrared diplomacy. Haz probably watches Wolf Warrior everyday. This is amazingly bad propaganda
