Or spending his entire life building autistic bunkers because Enver Hoxha, the closest thing to a lolcow who ever ran a country, thought it was a good idea to cover literally the entire fucking country in completely useless bunkers that did nothing and were never used.

Hoxha's Albania is what happens when a country is ruled by a purity spiraler. He called every authoritarian socialist leader he didn't like a "revisionist" and only he had the correct interpretation of Marxism.
 
Is all of Breadtube just a product of mental illness? So many of them have opened up about mental illness, but don't seem to want to do anything about it. Contrapoints says herself she can't answer questions on a livestream without a bottle in her hand. Philosophytube is this depressed mess who's been abused and doesn't have an answer to improvement.

The only ones who strike me as doing well are the functioning Narcissists like HBomberGuy.

I don't think that mental illness is the consequence of the Breadtube existance. They are channels dedicated to presenting idelogies that would create conflict, drama and stress at some point. Being behind a screen and have multiples people helping you to write your videos tend to make you very weak in a more direct discussion about your ideas. These people had mental illness before and now that they are in a constant whirlpool of shitstorm they can just get worse for them.
 
I think breadtube and a lot of other left-wing groups are the product of the poor mental health. But adopting a lot of those left-wing beliefs reinforce them and cause them to refuse to get help.
"How can I stop being anxious when capitalism is bad" is a message I've seen, but never phrased that way. Or a lot of people describing their mental health problems as a result of society. They're not exactly wrong, but it's right in the same sense that most of our problems are as a result of gravity existing.

If I was going to simplify I'd state that breadtube outside of Contra and hbomberguy are a byproduct of the endless "me too" online culture it's really apparant that a lot of them are looking for success and validation. Gutian is the most obvious example of this.

Well except for philosophytube who very probably wants to be Contrapoints in a more.....intimate way.

One, or both of them said at one time they the "shipping" from their fans was making them uncomfortable and affecting their attempts at dating. I doubt Olly wants Contra. Besides, he's actually fairly attractive when he's got a decent beard.

But he did shave it off for his video on Antisemitism. Where he just brushes over Antisemitism in Labour. Because it only counts when right-wingers do it. And no matter how left-wing the policies of an Anti-Semite, they're always right-wing.

Also, this video is a lot of him "explaining" why everyone he disagrees with, and Antisemites are actually mentally ill, dishonest and can't be reasoned with. No evidence is provided to back this up. Showing more of the authoritarian streak these people hold.

Did they really? Do you know exactly where they said that? The only thing I've seen from either of them on the matter was what looked like tacit encouragement of the pairing, so now I'm curious

This would have been a couple of years ago now. I don't remember exactly, but I think it's likely from one of the Contra streams that got taken off/unlisted.

And that disproves me point. He normally looks so much better. Maybe he does want to become Contra. Him and her are going more and more for the artsy style film-videos. At least his aren't 90% filler without any subtance.

I'm thinking now that Contra doesn't really have an opinion if there's more than one left-wing take on an issue. And she won't repudiate any lefties, no matter how repugnant.

There was a big left-wing push for "mental health awareness" a few years ago, maybe it was a cry for help. Either that or it was supposed to be a recruitment program, ensuring that every loon in the country is shown the path to fulfilment within the big blue cult, because we all know the kind of mental health counselling they'll be giving is more of the "emotional support and validation" kind and definitely not anything Peterson or one of the sane psychologists would have advocated.
