If anything, the reason why people nowadays like MLK and Gandhi is because they think those guys were peaceful instead of violent, not the other way around. I guess they were more unpopular back when people saw them as violent than now that people think they were basically angels.

In one of Olly's videos (I forget which, it might've been the "philosophy of antifa" one that's literally always in my goddamn recommended) he has this whole bit where he talks about why a "community of vulnerability" is preferable to a "community of strength" because it allows you to be emotionally open and blah blah blah. But that then creates a different set of problems, for example being expected to care about every instance of a minority being sad on the internet, as if it's evil to just not give a shit about (or actively mock) somebody suicide-baiting or any other obvious attention-seeking behavior.
This makes me actually want to read The Turner Diaries.

It's a community that flat out encourages manipulative predators, as long as they know how to play the victim which, spoiler alert, manipulative predators always do. For a group that loves to talk about gaslighting, victim blaming, and other abuser tactics, they sure are fantastically shit when it comes to spotting warning signs and preventing actual abusive behavior.

You could definitely make that argument. I think this cluster of communities isn't perfect and has its own problems, but on a personal level I far prefer the allowance of blunt honesty as opposed to wrapping everything you say in a cloyingly sympathetic veneer like they do in most progressive spaces

I don't recall the anti-lockdown protesters looting stores or burning down police stations. It was very orderly in comparison to this bullshit.
