Very important opinions:
  1. I like Jacob Geller when he's talking about art, he put me onto a lot of cool stuff like BLAME! and Anatomy and Jorge Louis Borges. It doesn't bother me when he talks about politics or values or morality because I can tell just from looking at him that his opinions on the real world are worthless so I just tune them out like a barking dog or a chirping bird.
  2. It sounds, from the vague descriptions I read, like whatever he did wouldn't meet my definition of sexual assault, but it meets his, and that makes this SUPER funny -- moralizing grandstanding leftoid burned at the stake by his own people for imagined sins of his own making without leaving behind any real victim to feel bad for. Just a good old fashioned feel good story.
  3. He dedicated a portion of his latest video to doomsaying about how global warming is going to cause cordyceps to evolve to withstand hotter climates which will in turn make it capable of withstanding our internal body temperature and make The Last Of Us real and that's also really really funny.
  4. I just remembered he made a big pseud video on the transformative experience of digging a hole and it was literally just "bugman discovers manual labor for the first time".

I disagree. People like that are monsters behind closed doors. What they do to young teenage girls is the shit that turns those girls into tatted-up BPD lunatics who are so pissed off about how members of their own race/community/family treated them that they invite in foreign terrorists and abusers to get back at the men who harmed them. I have no doubt the guy did a lot of bad shit that is far worse than what he's admitting to.

Never pretend that these people are exaggerating their own crimes since that's the last thing they'll do. They'll always downplay their behavior. Remember that in their minds, they're the eternal victims. That's why they can't shut up about things that happened in past centuries because they want to blame others and never themselves for the issues in the world today.

It sounds like he (Jacob) was completely unaware that he raped her until she approached him to discuss the subject. A very strange situation that makes me wonder the exact details of how that comes about. At the very least it doesn't sound to have been violent, especially given the light punishment.

Were they both drunk, and he accepted that as the man he had raped her because he had been in a position of power because he is exceedingly liberal?

Did she claim to have only gone along with it out of feeling pressured?

Did he get two No's and a Yes?

Was he feeling frisky during a watching of a Michael Moore documentary, went in for a kiss without her express consent?

What sort of rape leads to a next day chat about how they feel about it?
 
I've actually "watched" most of Jacob's videos through leaving autoplay on while I do other stuff and I think he annoyed me an acceptable amount. There was never a breaking point where his smugness caused me to tab away from whatever i was doing to turn it off or click away which has happened to to multiple other "essayist" channels.

I've seen and heard of examples of people where the man wanted sex, the woman absolutely didn't, but she didn't vocalize that, and then months or years later she goes "hey I didn't like that, I'm not going to go to the police because I don't think that'd be fair, but I also want you to know that I didn't like it", and the guy is apologetic/immediately "agrees" that it was sexual assault, or something adjacent. At the minimum, it was something bad that he could have acted differently on. I think this is basically the norm in these kinds of SA-adjacent scenarios where it was bad but was also clearly different from violent rape. Most people don't want to involve the police but do want some acknowledgment from the person who did it that it wasn't okay. They want to hear "I'm sorry", and I think that is reasonable in those cases.

I have never, ever, ever heard of this happening the day after. It's just fucking weird. Like as funny as "that guy who writes the pretentious Youtube essays is a rapist" is, I feel like the victim kept this private because she also knew it was kinda bullshit. Out of the few things he says in his statement, that is one of them, because I think he knows that they both know it was kinda bullshit. Because what is worse for his and her career than him being a rapist is him being so cucked that he let her boost her ego+social status off his reputational damage (victims in liberal colleges are obviously get a status boost). It was literally a one semester penalty? I've never heard of less than a year penalty for that kinda thing. It's just fucking strange. This all sounds like it was fucking performative, and like the performance just got a little too out of control. And that is why his response sounds so vindictive. I have never heard an admission of guilt (not a claim of innocence, obviously people get angry over false accusation) that sounded so vindictive. He sounds like a person who is angry that the "victim's wishes" were not met, but not because of how it makes the victim feel, but because of how this is coming to bite him in the ass when he knows he didn't rape her.

Either way, every progressive activist deserves any false rape allegations they ever have to deal with. They created a culture of pure hell for young people who are dating. Go listen to literally any boomer's stories about the way sexual interaction worked only 40-50 years ago, it was like a different planet. Not always great but people generally understood accountability for their own sexual decisions. Regret never factored into morality.

I don't know he admitted to being a rapist as that's the sort of thing that naturally craters your reputation with everyone. Likely did something creepy but not illegal, I don't know why he just didn't say anything like most would?

The type where you and your ex-gf have black out drunk sex after having broken up some weeks before, and the next day she regrets it and removes consent. If I were a betting man I'd pick this as what actually happened.

But this could be actual rape, he is a male feminist jew after all. Like he took her unconscious body to her house after a party, and fucked her because he assumed she wouldn't even remember, and like, "we had sex all the time anyways". Insane this is how I find out about it but I honestly don't care. This came out because someone from 10 years ago saw he is successful and had to cry out about how she girlbossed him and now wants internet points?
