This is why I hate progressives they argue that it was because of Christianity we had dark ages even though by ancient technology we had hit the peak of agrarian society technology during the height of Rome. Because of that peak man hit a dark age and scientific progress halted.
The idea that human progress is nothing more then one chain of progress without a rise or fall is ridiculous.

Feds have been funding fake left wing movements since the 50s to combat Soviet style commies(people who used to be an actual organized political threat to the US government). They didn’t only do this in America, they did it pretty much anywhere they had any influence. They’ve done the same with the right through shit like National Review.

Basically, any mainstream ideology presented as revolutionary or anti-system is controlled op and people who are real threats to power get squashed.

At the start of Middle Ages you have tribal kingdoms, at the end you have centralised states with developed institutions and first firearms started to spread by the end of Middle Ages.
There was technological progress during Middle Ages.

Also Roman Empire fell in year 1453. To the Ottoman turks.

I almost feel that this guy is a lowkey troll given the fact that it's basic knowledge that technological progress is hard when your centralized societies are collapsing. Hell, there was a mini renaissance in the 1100's that was helped due to the more stable condition in Europe and the crusades bringing back heaps of texts along with academic and religious tourism. Even in the dark ages, Europe invented the stirrup, an invention that was key for Carl the Hammer defeating the Muslims at Tours.
