The current Ukrainian president is a Jewish Macron-lite neolib who won 73% of the vote and got a majority in the parliament while not a single nationalist party got over the 5% threshold. For a while, Ukraine was the only country besides Israel with both its president and prime minister being Jews. It is remarkably philosemitic, so it hardly qualifies as a neo-Nazi central. It is also quite socially liberal for an Eastern European country.

There are fascist groups in Ukraine, ranging from cringe larpers to Donbas War veterans, but they do not have much sway over the public and do not particularly like the administration. It is remarkable how Anglo leftoids will simp for Lukashenko and Putin because those pay respects to the USSR and stand against the West, and these same Anglo leftoids think Ukraine is second only to Israel in the fascism rating.

It is possible to have the main page of a project be blank or a listing of random or most popular nodes, blogs, channels, or what have you, but I doubt anybody would actually do that. These days, it is customary to showcase a site’s content to entice new users, but that content also has to be hand-picked as to not accidentally promote something that is a Bad Look™ and will put off potential customers or cause negative press. Though I understand the complaint, I would not expect these new services to be any different in this respect than YouTube, Twitch, or Tumblr. Ideally, whatever they showcase on the main page should not be blatantly politically charged, but if a service is maintained by politically charged people, that is unlikely.

I don't know if it's really true that Ukraine is philosemitic. They have an extensive history of antisemitism that extends to modern politics, not just in the post-Soviet era but well into the 21st century. I think they are currently going through a pro-Jewish phase, not because Ukrainians love Jews per se, but because (as is so often the case) Jews are used as a proxy for the political issues of the day.

Mostly Jews are seen as a proxy for mainstream Western politics (which is why there's so much antisemitism from both the far-right and far-left in Western countries) and right now that's what's popular in Ukraine, especially since the West is basically what's keeping Russia from taking even more land. Not only does that make the status of Jews in these countries precarious, it doesn't even necessarily translate to good treatment or dignity for Jews in those countries.
 
When someone complains about the "US-backed Neo-Nazis" in Azov, that's the clearest tell that they have almost no comprehension of the Russo-Ukrainian War or Geopolitics in general.

I'm not saying you can't critique US involvement in Ukraine but whenever Azov is the very first thing someone brings up it betrays a juvenile mindset that forgoes nuance and context in favor of a one-note "Nazis bad" worldview.

Antisemitism in Ukrainian politics exists primarily on the far-right fringes, not in the mainstream. In mainstream politics, Jewishness and Judaism are non-issues. Among the public, antisemitism is of domestic nature and seldom informs any action beyond complaining on Facebook about Kolomoysky or Rabinovich stealing national wealth.

I absolutely do not see where the idea that Jews are seen as a proxy for Western politics could come from. In Ukraine, feminist and LGBT issues are viewed this way, not Jews. Feminist and LGBT activists are seen as spreading either Western disease or Western light. That particular framing of women’s and homosexuals’ issues is quite alien to this region.

The issue of antisemitism and the far-right in Ukraine is absolutely blown out of proportion. Local analysts claim this is thanks to Russian propaganda, but I reckon that is a natural consequence of how activist and media organisations function. Their job is to look for problems, and so they do, and they find them, and they cannot say, ‘This is not a big deal.’

For anybody interested, I have attached an antisemitism report for 2020, so anybody can see precisely how antisemitic Ukrainians are in practical terms. These reports have been made yearly by a Ukrainian Jewish organisation.

Also, I liked this article back when it was published: ‘Ukraine’s Newly Elected President Is Jewish. So Is Its Prime Minister. Not All Jews There Are Pleased.’ It is a rare one that talks about Jews in Ukraine without hysterics.

As someone who has been around alt right/far right/nationalist circles, especially in 2014-15, I can tell you this is a fucking lie. Neo-nazi support for Euromaiden was often debated in these circles and many in the pro Russian camp thought these guys were stooges or feds.
