tl;dr: There is no EOC or education requirement, which means it was likely pretty bullshit.

Source: I have knowledge of how university kangroo courts work.

Here is what happened.
Someone made a complaint. It might be the girl, it might be her roommate. There was an investigation done, where the major factors in the decision process were "how likely is the girl or her family to make a stink" and "how valuable to the university is he?"

Under modernish playbooks, if he was suspended for just a semester with no police involvement what this means is:
1) "Evidence", provided any actually existed, was weak as fucking hell.
2) Despite 1, There was SOME basis to the complaint.
3) Even if readily exonerated, if an investigation is started, for liability reasons the university will still find something to scuff him up on.
4) The university wanted this complaint resolved quickly and quietly. This doesn't mean anything special, that is the default standard of the tribunals.

The usual way shit in these manners is handled is pretty much every university rape allegation involves underage alcohol consumption. If the involved parties weren't drunk and/or underage, then there was almost always a party involved where minors were drinking. So usually instead of trying to make a he said/she said case, the university will violate the guy for some alcohol policy.
Most girls in college are retarded so they just hear "He's getting punished" and no further thinking is done. Most case that don't involve the police... lets just say the "rapes" aren't reported for weeks or months after the fact.
The ones who aren't retarded and/or were actually assaulted, or their fathers are involved, the university will do the "oh gee you know, these cases are really tough to prove and look we're getting him on SOMETHING, you should be happy about. If we have to involve the police, the defense is going to pry into just how much of a drunk whore you are, and if he's aquitted he might sue the university and get a payout and his record cleared. So its not ideal but isn't it better than him maybe getting away with it? So please sign this NDA and release."
For the accused, its the inverse "Ok sure you can try to fight this but then we'd want a police investigation and you'll be completely fucked for admissions to any acedited school. Even if you didn't do anything, is it better to just take this lighter punishment and be done instead of spending a decade+ trying to sue the school for being a dystopian tyranny with the very real possibility you'll lose?"

In this case, if its a girl he was dating there is enough basis to warrant an investigation just on the face. This reads like a "I'm revoking consent because I found out he made out with my best friend" to me,


I'm also going to say:
The "manager" saying they fired him is correct but really elevating their level of decision making, like "as the manager of the radio station, I made a principalled stand against rape". lolno.

once there is an actual investigation, the radio station manager would have been handed down the mandate to suspend him from the University administration, this would be the case with any university extra circulars.
At the radio station that would be about the same as getting fired because unless its the monday through wednesday 1am to 4am slot there are going to be multiple takers to replace him.
If he worked any other campus job that involved interacting with other students (aka all of them) he'd likely be suspended (fired) from those as well until the investigation concluded.

The fact this guy has no EOC/Written apology or 'rape is bad' essay/"education" requirement is pretty telling.

A normal case of drunken hookups with morning regret would look something like
"Paulson, Nicholas Sexual Assault or Sexual Violence (1) Definite suspension for one semester; and (2) Education requirement"
Definite suspension (that is, he doesn't need to file for readmittance, his punishment ends after one semester) and has to attend a "rape is bad, mkay" class. Doesn't even have a restaining


A bit more serious case would be
"Pupo-Lazaro, Roberto Sexual Assault or Sexual Violence (1) Indefinite suspension for one full academic year; (2) Education requirement; and (3) Order of No Contact."
Indefinite suspension means he has to petition the university to end his punishment after a full academic year as passed. has to attend the rape s bad class, and isn't allowed to contact his victim (see: indefinite suspension).

A bit off topic, but I went to the Vatican Museum a while ago, and they had a "Modern Art" section in there.
The museum was full, like you could barely move in some places, yet literally no one gave a fuck about the modern art, like not one soul. I went with a guide, and they also didn't give a fuck, the tour ended before we even got there. And the "Modern Art" section is literally part of the path you have to take to leave the museum, yet everybody just walked right past it, barely giving it any thought.
I looked at it for a couple of minutes to see if there was any value in them (there wasn't), and the funny thing I noticed is that it seemed like even the Vatican didn't give a fuck, because there were fewer cameras (a lot more blind spots) and like only one guard for the hole section. They know it's all worthless.

Same experience with the MoMA in NYC. Although to be fair there were a couple of large scale intricate models that were modern that I liked, but that could just be me liking large dioramas anyway, but no one else cared and everyone was just there to see The Scream.
