I'm confused, I thought radical feminists = intersectional feminists. Unless you're calling radical fem to the group that's against trannies? .

Intersectional feminists recognise gender as an axis of oppression which operates in tandem with other axis of oppression such as race, class or sexuality. Since these axes have interactive effects sexism will be different for black women and white women and you cannot be a feminist without seeking to end other forms of oppression as whilst racism is still alive the black woman is still oppressed even if the white woman is not.

This is where it gets interesting so buckle up. You can be an intersectional-radical feminist or just a radical feminist or just a intersectional feminist. This is because intersectionality is more like the form of approach you take to dealing with the problem whilst radical feminism is more the philosophical understanding of what gender is.

Traditional radical feminists believe gender is an entirely socially constructed thing, that we have different rude bits but all other differences are the result of socialization. This is why they don't like trans people, they see them as larping as gender stereotypes which oppress them. Some hard radical feminists are intersectional in other respects excluding trans women and see woman only as a sex class and do not recognise gender classes.

So basically whether you're a 'radfem' or not comes down to whether on not you think 'gender' as distinct from sex should be abolished and the extent to which you think gender differences are learned vs innate. Whether you're a 'intersectional feminist' or not depends on whether you consider other axis of oppression in your gender analysis/activism.

Oh yes, your girl read a blog on gender once.

Radfems scream oppression but then turn around and also oppress any woman who dares engage in wrongthink. Being mixed up with them was as bad as being stuck in evangelical religion. Women are smart and capable! Except apparently when it comes to doing anything radfems don’t like, then it’s, “Oh, you don’t know what you like, you’re only doing this because you’ve been brainwashed by socialization under patriarchy. Once you stop being a self-hating woman with internalized misogyny, you’ll total start thinking and doing the right things!”

Like goddamnit Martha, I shave because I want to, not because I’m psychologically crippled and brainwashed by evil systemic patriarchy. That happens over and over. You wear makeup? You poor dumb brainwashed bimbo, it’s impossible you actually like it. Wear feminine clothes? You do it for the male gaze! Use the word bitch? YOU ARE PERSONALLY KILLING WOMANKIND!

It was exhausting. It’s either have no independent thoughts, be told that you’re just a dumb moron incapable of doing thing due to your own desires, or that you’re selfish for living the life you want if it ‘contributes to the oppression of all woman’ (eg, choosing to shave and or wear makeup, etc.)

My youngest son was suspended for a day and has a mark on his permanent school record, because some older kids dared him to go in the girls bathroom at his school.

He was FIVE years old at the time, and just started kindergarten.
Wondering if I should fight to get this removed. I could claim he felt like a girl that day.
Do it & call the media
