If you need to think if you want to pull on a banner, then might as well YOLO it and pull anyways. Not like the game has some massive skill gates once you get to high levels. Embrace the gacha and pull for your favourite students.
My primary goal has always been to maximize my collection, which means putting limited students as top priority. Now I wish I was more careful on being able to keep up on it for the long run instead of feeling confident in my pyro stockpile and occasionally pulling from non-limited meta banners and, even worse in the first year or two, new banners to maximize item rewards on the corresponding event.
Well I already had a couple of time-limited 10-count tickets to spend, so I went ahead and rolled up to spark for magical girls. Unfortunately, it appears that this thread stole my luck as I only got one on spark. In this case Reisa, who I gather to be the more meta choice. For the first time, I'm going to pass on the first banner run of a limited student.
Fortunately, I realized that pulling to spark on magical girls does not really set me back on my pyro goals for the next Fes, and that's because I have unread MomoTalks for 200 students.
Looking up the rewards, that means there's enough pyro in there for me to mine at least one complete spark, possibly two. I have 17k pyro right now, but with MomoTalk to fall back on, I feel confident about having 60k by the time of Fes to spark once for Rio/Himari and worst-case twice for Aris/Kei.
Not that it's relevant to me at the moment, but I also didn't know that there's going to be a selectable banner for the first Fes students. That gives nice confidence that Fes students will always be available not just for pulling on random chance, but also sparking through this type of occasional banner.
