I'm guessing they're hoping to get a bunch publicity and then say "Poverty is a race issue!" in the same way they had a protest at a UK airport which stopped flights and said they did it because pollution is racist. (Oddly all the protesters were white)
 
It's a good thing I live in Canada. That way I don't have to experience first hand an entire country simultaneously turn full-blown :autism: for one day of the year.

We're getting our own 'black friday' in Europe too... Buuuut it's just discounts here and there and it's nothing crazier than other seasonal sales. Another 'like the American Cool Kids' fad.

It's still hilarious how these people are acting like fucking animals-- I remember that Game of Thrones-themed South Park special that was all about that a few years back. Good times o/
 
I think eventually Black Friday will fade into history once buying stuff online catches on to the point where they can't make any money with one day crazy sales. Hopefully sooner rather than later, since dying over a tv or computer is probably the worse way to go.

Kind of in the 90's, but the day after Thanksgiving has been a big shopping day for decades. It became known as "Black Friday" because it was generally the day most businesses had enough sales that they went from being in the red (in accounting terms), to being in the black (i.e. anything sold after that was profit). I think with the internet the idiocy seemed to increase, both due to videos of it getting online, but also the desperation of stores to get money when competing against online sellers.
 
From the videos on the OP I would assume Black Friday means the day everyone gets to act like niggers.

Fuck, now it's shootings? Jesus, I remember a few years ago when that employee at Walmart was trampled to death. People were still pushing and shoving and grabbing shit off of the shelves while the employees were trying to help the guy.

I worked at Kmart all through college -- I fucking earned the right to PALATR when it comes to Black Friday Fights.
 
In (totally chill, not especially crowded) Target last night, a woman was seeking refuge after witnessing a violent episode in the Walmart across the street. She said one woman beat another woman severely with a crutch. Twelve police officers swooped in to break it up, and all customers were held for 30 minutes in the back of the store in a cordoned off area, not allowed to leave. The woman in Target said her kids were freaking the fuck out at being detained with a horde of screaming hillbillies and ghetto dwellers. Who the fuck takes a toddler and an infant Black Friday shopping anyway?
