A lot of people talking about the tranny/nog shit (rightfully so), but ignoring the gameplay aspects of this too. From what I have seen dice kept moving the TTK around like crazy, they would also lowered the skill ceiling right around December most likely for the Christmas buyers.

There are several lists going around of weapons that were datamined, several of which are already in the game pretty much complete, and some were even ready day 1. The thought process is the items are a victim of the live service model. Where Dice was artificially taking out content to add back later so it looks like they are always updating and building the game.

From what I have tried to gleem from the behind the scenes of this game the direction for this game was all over with no clear vision. There are those who didn't care for the other shit but wanted to stick through it for the core gameplay but even then many gave up. Some idea of scale there is no Eastern front at all in game, no Italy, no France. Which are obviously very important places for the Euro theater of ww2.

Dice said they wanted the "unknown" fronts of ww2 (in a thinly veiled way to talk about how great they are for showing off muh wahmen n brown people) but they clearly didn't want to do the lesser known areas like say Malaysia, China, Yugoslavia, Finland, Alaska, Philippines, etc. They wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They wanted the poz shit and the big name battles that everyone knows about for name recognition.

The good ideas to come out of the tranny fire that is 5 thus far seem to be
  • Fortifications to counterbalance destruction
  • Squad points
  • Overall movement and shooting systems
  • Weapon/vehicle upgrade systems being more streamlined
  • The squad revive system
Now they obviously need some tinkering but I do see the above ideas having potential.

Also is there any mod I can ping so we can make this a BF general?

I think there is one in the works, the only issue is its being made by bluedrake42. That said I do agree the core movement, shooting, and spawn systems of HLL is better then Squad.
From the gameplay I have seen of BFV, its looks more cartoony and bright compared to BF1. The music, themes and color palette added to the theme of destruction and annihilation of the enemy. Also uncensored chat in BF1 where a person could go full /pol/tard was great.

Speaking of BF1 is anyone else here playing it? I’m pretty shit at the game but I’ve still been having a fuckin good time shooting stuff with bolt action rifles

I want to play it but:
1) My controller broke many months ago, and I haven't replaced it.
2) My shitty PlayStation spits the disc out.

BF1 is like a silly theme park version of WW1 where nothing works even remotely realistically, but I love it dearly and it invigorated a deep interest in World War I in me. I love the game and most all of its maps. The DLC got progressively shittier, though. Every single part of They Shall Not Pass was great. In the Name of the Tsar felt different, not as good, but still good. Then they got lazy as hell with Turning Tides, and finally, Apocalypse was sort of piss by comparison. I never played all that much of Apocalypse because I was burnt out by that point, even though River Somme and especially Paschendaele looked great.

I think CoD sucks just as much as it did 10 years ago, but even then it still treated its audience better than EA/DICE did this time.

Battlefield was at an all-time high point when Battlefield 1 came out. Infinite Warfare was a total embarassment compared to other entries, and the WW2 follow-up wasn't special. It even drew ire when one of the Sledgehammer crew posted themselves next to Anita Sarkeesian, shortly followed by details that you could play as a black, female Nazi in multiplayer, which damaged all sense of immersion.

Then EA said, "hold my beer" and pushed wammen to the forefront of V, which was disastrous in that it was sold on the basis of historical realism. This had been their chance to once again outshine CoD and deliver the superior WW2 game, but they pushed for woke points and thought their franchise was too big to fail. Well fuck them.

If it had been a small, unadvertised mission in the campaign focusing on that one real all-female company, or a Russian sniper or the like, it would have glossed over smoothly and people would have still bought it, much like how the black company in BF1 was only there for a tutorial and a 2-minute single player ending. But nah, they got pretentious and preachy and tried to sell the game with their own peculiar brand of moral superiority and it bit them in the ass.

A return to the modern age for BF6 or BC3 is most certainly the safest option, but they'd better ease back on the PC shit. People want to feel like they're fighting on a battlefield, not in a social media shooter.

I don't trust DICE to make a good game anymore. I still play BF4 and it has so much content, I doubt they'll give me a reason to move on to a new installment.

The next game will be a modern game with the same shit. I will call this now and it'll be worse than 5.

I will be surprised if VI is not Battlefield VI-etnam.

Anyways thank fuck this game was finally mercy killed. Absolutely nobody cared about it. They had to outright pay content creators to play the beta, its launch went completely unnoticed, BO4 dominated the season and DICE's half-assed attempt at a BR couldn't attract Twitch streamers to give it press for more than a day.

It's a sad, drawn out stillbirth of a AAA game. Even Anthem's shittiness made headlines.

So what failed Netflix actress they gonna get to lead the storyline in a butchered reboot of Bad Company? Because the best way to force this feminist nonsense is to present women as funny and quirky during conflict. My money is on Amanda Zhou. No notable roles to mention, show just got shit-canned and perfect for the Chinese market.

I disagree with this point, when the COD WW2 logo flashed at E3 (I think it was E3) the crowd went fucking nuts.

The trailer was the most watch video in youtube history up to that point.

It was the fastest selling / most sold until the current Modern Warfare

I really enjoyed COD WW2, it would be possibly my top COD of all time tied with BO4's Blackout.

The initial launch was amazing, the uniforms historically accurate, the world had that grainy olive drab vibe, but then the immersion was totally lost a few months into the game when neon pink guns and zombie outfits started popping up in multiplayer. It just ruined the vibe of the game.

The funny thing is the next COD is rumored to be Vietnam with a rebooted Blackops universe. The first Blackops was sort of Vietnam era but it's a place COD has never gone before.

The last Battlefield set in that era was like 2004, I think. It was pre BF2 for sure.

Correction: it wasn't the most watched video in Youtube history, it was the most watched video in Call of Duty history. Nonetheless, your point was that it was something special, and the numbers speak for themselves.

However, I still think EA/DICE stood a chance of eclipsing the game by staying more watertight in historical accuracy, with things like not being wusses about showing the swastika in addition to the aforementioned multiplayer gripes, but as we know they did far worse and rightly paid for it.

Correct. Battlefield Vietnam was like, right before BF2 dropped, and still allowed you to put enormous number of bots into the game that couldn't fly jets and were somewhat incompetent. Still, they fulfilled the purpose of having the battlefield rage around you - those were good times.

They should add bots to battlefield 3, 4 and 1 to keep them alive. Also it's annoying to launch 3 on your pc, you need your web browser to do it. At least they fixed it for bf4 but the server counts are all wrong as EA no longer cares about maintenance.

something tells me the next battlefield game is gonna be set around the vietnam war or the civil war, and thats if they dont wanna do another modern war setting

From 3 onward the downfall was the map designs, which were absolute chaos (although 3 wasn't that bad, just the start of it). Players could be dropping in, or spawning at any point of the map, regardless of the objectives. Only meat grinders like that chinese gulag map had any semblance of a front line and allowed you to play without constantly being worried about getting shot in the back.

No way they do Civil War. No planes, no cars, guns would be boring, and absolutely no worldwide appeal.

I'm surprised by all these predictions on what place the next title will take place at and nobody is bring up the Korean War, I honestly would love to see a game set in those 3 short years in Korea.

Last time I was playing BF5 before I uninstalled it, I asked if anyone of the server listened to vaporwave, DICE had vaporwave censored for some reason.

Gonna have to deisagree with you on the Turning Tides part, the naval engagements where some of the most fun I had since 1942 when you were able to navigate around the seas and bombard enemies all over the map with your very own ship.

Tried BFV out to scratch my ww2 itch. Its impressive how bad it is compared to BF1. Didn't even finish fg42 grind before dropping it.

Or tried to tackle racism by completely inventing actions taken against black soldiers.

It was a really fucking weird decision. There were lots of great women to draw upon, and plenty of racism to talk about, so instead they invent shit and make both concepts look ridiculous rather than harrowing.

They made you play as nazi soldiers killing Americans lol in the single player missions. Usually people would mod games to play as nazis like the first two Call of Duty games but this was first time I have seen it done as a official thing.

They could have used the 442nd Regiment like they used the Harlem Hellfighters in the first game. Or Soviet female snipers that had hundreds of kills.
