So play an inferior Battlefield to unlock gear for another Battlefield?
Imo after playing the beta all weekend I'm happy to return to a game where the vehicles feel like they do something. I like bf6 but right now as a battlefield game 2042 craps all over it. If I never have to pay the new York map again it'll be too soon.
For those who went back to BF2042, have you done the Phantom Program easter eggs?
I did them all as they came out, all I can remember is doing the one to call I'm a middle to now up the building was sick. Levelution was such a great concept, hopefully we get it again at some point.
 
So play an inferior Battlefield to unlock gear for another Battlefield? (This isn't against you specifically, I'm thinking out loud.) I didn't even get to 100% all beta unlocks from last weekend. Now my OCD will kill me.
1. Its just to fill time, I'm playing nothing else right now and I grabbed a key for the game for $5.
2. I have friends who already own it and they tried to drag me into it years ago trying to justify their purchase. So I'll at least have some fun with them even when the game sucks.
3. I also have ocd for these stupid cosmetics, I got all the beta challenges done and had a streamer muted in another tab to get the twitch drops.

Im hoping these skins change the race and gender of the classes so I can make everyone white men, listening to women die screaming is hitting some caveman part of my brain that I don't like.
 
I didn't play Warfighter so I can't really speak on it. Medal of Honor was CoD's biggest competitor until CoD4 came out and turned the series into a cultural cornerstone.
I have played MOH: Warfighter. Honestly, I did not like it. The plot was largely forgettable, the multiplayer was a slog to go through because of menu navigation and smaller than normal text making it illegible to read.

I wish I played the original reboot. I think Danger Close made the single player and DICE made the multiplayer through different executable. Shame the servers for MoH 2010 are discontinued.
 
Finished all the unlocks in the Beta before it closed, my impressions are generally positive (albeit not overwhelmingly so).

Exclusive Battlefield 6 rewards for completing the battlepass in 2042. It also confirms that the revolver is a thing.

Nah, I hated how fucking busted the 2042 vehicles were, basically impervious to everything but other vehicles. And, at least with the tank, the vehicles in BF6 are still impactful (given the driver is competent and has at least one engineer to repair it). With that said, the game which struck the balance best between infantry and vehicles was probably BF1. The one thing I'll miss from 2042 is the grappling hook, let me get so many easy kills on oblivious dullards.

I agree. Most of the time it really felt useless to play as an engineer because it was near impossible to take down a tank or a helicopter solo.
Another thing I liked in the BF6 beta: vehicles are on the fucking map. No more retards keeping tanks for themselves and doing nothing.

MOH's multiplayer was really good. It was somewhere between BC2 and BF3.

What was inexplicitable. Danger Close did the SP for 2010 in Unreal. Dice did the MP in Frostbite. So they felt and looked like different games. The MP might as well of just been a big BC2 Afghanistan expansion.

Then for Warfighter, they switched it. Dice did the MP in Frostbite and Dangerclose did the MP in Unreal. Still looked like different games. I don't recall the MP for WF ever really taking off as it was very inferior to the previous titles in every regard. Gameplay and graphics.

I don't think I finished 2010s SP, or if I did I really have no memory of it. I recall Warfighters being decent enough and at the time looked good in Frostbite. It also had a fun driving level that was done by some studio that was using Frostbite for Need for Speed games at the time.

Yeah, I'll have to think about it for additional BF6 cross-promotional items. I have avoided BF2042 because of how it handled its specialist gimmick with the supposed seriousness of a world bent out of shape for climate change or what have you.

Anyone else remember those godawful skins they sold for BFV? Most of them with gas masks and tomahawks and shit?

I also have an issue with this, I was using a scope on the LTS (i switched between the LVPO and whatever the 5x was) and anything past probably 100m was frustrating. You could
BF1 and V had decent sniper mechanics. Especially the sweet spot mechanic from 1.

They’re also planning to move the spawn beacon to the assault class which seems retarded. On most maps you’ll have Support and Assault and that’s it.

What is the point of Recon then. I'm going to assume that closed weapons will not happen as NiggerCattle won't bother with it.

What’s the point of any class without locked weapons?

Anytime a tank shows up, they’ll all switch to engineer for like a minute or however long it takes to blow up with the TEN MISSILES the engineer spawns with, and then switch back to assault.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the one useful class: Support, won’t get much play. All the players they’re trying to attracts will just use assault to run around with a one shot kill shotgun and a sniper rifle and zergrush the objective.

Those gun skins are already going into immersion breaking territory. I had hopes they were going to keep it completely grounded but of course they're not. Gotta make sure the nigger cattle can get their sick flames skin for their pistol. It's not too egregious on its own but slippery slope and all that. After launch they'll slowly add increasingly retarded skins I guarantee it. You can only have so many actual tank camo patterns before they start pulling out the hot pink camo.

I can't wait to get killed and see the death camera jumping to "EggCracker69" with a tranny pride colored rifle camo and a hello kitty key chain dangling off the gun
 
I would have loved to play the beta but i'll be GOD DAMNED if i'm waiting in a queue of over 90.000 people lol. I'll suffer through the inevitable painfully broken slog of the full release like everyone else.

That's dumb as fuck. I thought Assault's whole 'thing' was that he trades utility for being very good at ASSAULTING objectives head-on, which was only SUPPORTED by the medpack and chest paddles being given to Support. Assault is already quite good at what he does, he doesn't also need to have what is arguably Recon's most useful gadget.

Yeah that's dumb. Assault should be the least "utility" class, just straight firepower. If they're going to be lazy, just copy Delta Force because they actually did a good job with keeping their classes distinct but also reliant on each other: Assault gets grenade launchers and movement boosters to spearhead attacks, Support gets fast revives, team buffs, and smoke grenades, Engineer is the anti-vehicle/defensive class with rocket launchers, traps, and mines, and Recon gets detection gadgets and the squad beacon.

It's especially wild considering they're giving assault two primary weapons now. That alone should of been enough and no longer require the beacon to be given to assault. Don't they also now have a ladder that allows them to go up into windows and a sledge hammer and shit like that?
 
I mean, why have classes at all really, if you just boil it down to one or two viable/useful classes?

I guess shit like that is what happens when you pick a guy who worked on COD for years to run BF.

It was perfect in BF1, where the assault had fairly short ranged SMGs and could be picked off at a distance with Medics/Snipers/Support.

I can't see why DICE simply didn't copy BF4's class dynamic with some tweaks here and there. IMO the only major downside the old system had was that niche classes such as M320 assaults had to either trade med bags or defibs to rock launchers, but BF6 could've improved on that by simply providing at least one of those tools as standard kit to keep an element of teamplay to those classes.

Seriously, I don't think either COD tourists or BF vets would be upset over that dynamic. Currently, classes either contribute nothing to teams (recon,assault) or simply do everything (support, engi) with no inbetween. Fusing ammo and med bags into one made having a fourth class in the game redundant, and looking at assault now, you can just tell they were out of ideas as soon as DICE planned his kit. I can just imagine the discussion during the design meeting:

I had a lot more fun than I thought I'd have playing the beta but game balance is absolutely fucked. M4A1 was so good it felt like I was cheating. High ROF laser beam with the same damage as a regular AR. Sure damage fall off was ass but its so accurate you could beam people down even doing 10 damage a shot.

Don't even get me started on the classes.
