Will they ever make a Battlefield 1983? I want to fly around in an Apache over the Fulda Gap blasting T-72s
This get's me to wonder on whether they would make a Battlefield game focusing on the Korean war at some point, literally one of the most underrated conflicts out there, kind of surprised no major game franchises has ever look upon it.

Because it would piss off the Chinese. Perfect for CoD and its infinite enemies gimmick since that's how things felt like on the ground for the UN guys, but gunning down a few hundred Chinese in one mission would make Comrade Xi sad.

1980s ww3 battlefield would be goat.

Theres a mod for BF2 that did that.

which reminds me apparently the reason ea/dice never wanted to go alt history too much back then was "people might confuse it for the real thing".
which only made the shit that started in BF1 even worse, and then they didn't even have the balls to give us a war of the worlds DLC for it.

It's a shame that in the modern age, we can't expect games named "Battlefield" and "Call of Duty" to feature military-accurate uniforms, weapons or vehicles. In Battlefield's case, you'd potentially have an endless fount of DLC to make that people would appreciate, which in turn could inform the creation of future maps and modes based on historical engagements.

But nah, that's not the face of BF6. It'll likely be US vs. Fictional Nation with Russian accents, with everyone wearing brightly-coloured doodad gear and camo and the in-game store where you can buy the skins of every FIFA player for BFBucks.

I'm just here to say that I didn't realize Battlefield V was de-listed and removed from PS4 until yesterday, when I tried to redownload it for a few quick matches. BF1 and BF4 are still there, though.

Game's development was a disaster but it was still pretty fun. I really missed going wild with the MP-34 on Hamada and Rotterdam. Fortifications were kino. I didn't get 2141 but I'm surprised to see that mechanic not get brought back from BFV.

Medic is best class, operators sound gay as fuck.

What do you mean delisted? I looked on the Xbox and PSN website, it's still available for purchase. You'd need to look for Battlefield V Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition.

I went back into Battlefield V recently. Operation: Underground Conquest is still chaotic with ample opportunity to farm XP from choke points.

they might have changed editions/bundles, seems sony doesn't change the SKU but creates a new one or something.

I'm retarded, I thought it had been delisted because it randomly disappeared from my library and I couldn't look it up unless I specifically used the PSN store. I guess Brave and Google search lied to me about it, too...

Hamada and the other desert maps were always my favorites. Same with Sinai in BF1 and Silk Road in BF4. Just something about deserts that I like.

I remember why I stopped playing Battlefield: Hardline. Almost everybody plays Downtown 24/7. That map is horribly balanced with players funneling themselves into the central skyscraper (C flag I believe). I think there's even a ban on helicopters because they can farm kills from the roof or there's a glitch spot where you're impervious to damage.

A flaw with Battlefield is that everybody plays the same map. 3 has Operation Metro, 4 has that warehouse level, Hardline has Downtown, 5 has Operation Underground.

EA has been doing that with their older games lately. They did it with the original versions of Mass Effect trilogy and Dragon age 1 and 2 a few years ago.
Bethesda's treatment of Skyrim has been a cancer on the industry for starting this "delisting of older paid game versions" trend.

I've never noticed this but I have noticed there are always at least a couple of servers dedicated solely to these maps in every BF title I've played (all of them).

Granted I haven't played 3, 4 or 5 for a minute and with a smaller player base maybe players are congregating on those maps nowadays?

Tbh I never liked the enclosed maps much, they're okay if you're keen to quickly farm exp or attachments for weapons or have that CQB itch but personally I always preferred the more traditional maps.

I personally notice Op Locker and Shanghai popping up a lot in BF4.

My biggest gripe with older Battlefield games is the fact that DLC maps are pretty much nonexistent. I chalk it up to the old map packs for BF3/4/1 still being paid content that nobody wants to buy any more. Trying to find a good server with China Rising maps for BF4 or Turning Tides/Apocalypse maps in BF1 is super rare in my experience.

BFV kind of avoids that by being a pseudo-live service with free maps, but then you have Strategic and Tactical Conquest splitting the map selection. Kind of sucks, having to jump between servers just to play Panzerstorm or Fjell.

Checked BF4 on playstation for the first time in a while recently and was sad to see my favorite 24/7 Operation Metro server was no longer up. I feel like the series really peaked with 4, 2 and 3 were fucking amazing too but I enjoyed how 4 kinda brought it all together and still felt reasonably like Battlefield.

Nothing will top the feel of the old Gulf of Oman missions on Battlefield 2 though, loading up with the boys on the aircraft carrier and boating over to kill some ragheads on the other team.

Or blowing up the Zeppelin blimp in Battlefield 1 and seeing the aftermath of it right in the middle of a battlefield.
