isn't wild assault a hero shooter?
the battlebit hype passed me so I never paid much attention.
Yeah, more or less. It has BF elements from what I can tell, but it's more in line with hero shooters than BF...then again, 2042. As with Battlebit, good. It sucks to see something so great turn to pure shit, people realized that the developers simply got lucky and struck gold, then proceeded to ignore the gold and mine for copper, then wondered why people were leaving them. Seriously, every patch for that game was a nail in the inevitable coffin before they pretty much up and left (I hear there's a patch coming but unless it's huge I doubt it's going to be 6 months huge, last patch was in March). And did I mention it has a $20 entry fee? That would be good to keep all the dregs out as FtP games attract third world shitters with shitty internet, shitty mic quality, and spam said mic. It's not good however if the game is dying, full of hackers, and most of what made it fun originally was nerfed to the ground, buffed to be unopposed, or changed in some negative way. In the early days, people loved the unfiltered proximity voice chat, then of course that was shitted on along with the text chat. Someone got insta-banned for saying "Trump" so if that doesn't tell you where their priorities are...speaking of bans, the report system is busted. Trolls or sweats will mass report you for existing in a way they don't like and only 4 are needed to get auto-banned until review, did I mention that the devs are radio silent and the jannies are probably too? Also says a lot that people considered the community much better
before the game went on its first sale? Ain't that something, lowering the price of entry brought a bunch of shitters that ruined the voice and text chat, almost as if the worst of randos on the internet only congregate towards low priced/free online games.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just sad that developers can see a golden opportunity and then let it slip so easily, hyped to hell and back and they nothing to capitalize on it, instead making it worse. The game was also supposed to be more like a milsim but they made it like Battlefield to test the game, then when people loved it as a Battlefield-like game they pivoted to capitalize on that, then they pivoted to be more like CoD and
WHOOPS they tripped. Nearly 100,000 players, second highest peak was 40,000,
2 months later it fell to 6,000, now it barely keeps 4000. Soon as a new BF game or BF-like game comes out, that game is dead completely.
