I liked how Hardline had two easter egg weapons. I just stumbled across a Chinatown server and saw four guys looking to obtain the Mammoth Gun.
bf4 also had the bow, but can't say who game up with it first.

they had way too much fucking fun in hardline (which made it so great):

I'm shocked they didn't try to sell them as NFTs.
ubisoft already tried that, and breakpoint probably has more players than 2042 these days...

With friends and a squad, it's a lot of fun fooling around in its sandbox. Especially with vehicles. It's fun because it DOESN'T take itself so seriously. And it KNOWS it.

I'm on a Battlefield itch lately. I've been back and forth between 3, 4 and Hardline. I still stand with my opinion that 3 is superior to 4 in every way. UI is cleaner, artistic direction is varied, hit registration is better, campaign has more purpose.

1943 is a fun bite-sized Battlefield experience. The limited classes make it balanced, even if Recon can be sluggish from its aged controls. The Pacific Theater is rarely covered in video games AFAIK. It's represented quite well in 1943.

I need more experience with the three classes in 1943. I swear that the Japanese Scout class (SMG) does slightly more damage than its American counterpart.

So far, my go-to class is the Rifleman class (DMR) for both factions.

A new trailer for the Liquidators Event has been posted. And it goes to show again, that EA can make trailers that can make even the biggest turd of a game look good, while the said game is still the same said biggest turd.

That's why they pay the big bucks for marketing.

I'll just wait for another Battlefield Friends episode.

I had most of my fun with Battlefield 3. Bad Company 2 took me away from Modern Warfare, but 3 was a damn fun time unlike anything else.

4 wasn't all it was cracked up to be for me. It had some good moments, but the gunplay didn't feel as fun, it started the stupid lootboxes that thankfully disappeared after BF1, and it really just didn't hold my interest like 3 did.

Bad Company 2 has the most realistic recoil I've seen yet. It's not uncommon for your gun to sway based on your surroundings and momentum. Melee with the bumper will take some getting used to.

I'll have to replay BC1+2 campaign, but why does BC2 start in WW2?

It's basically one level in WW2. It's to show that a scientist was working on a deadly WMD that was lost in time and gets rediscovered in the present day. I would assume it was also the start of EA dabbling in CoD's campaign gimmicks with surprise deaths, with the WW2 guy basically failing and getting killed.

Bad Company 2 was also part of what soured any liking I could have had for Black Ops. For the most part, you're allowed to screw up with your driving and such in BC2, and are not on-rails to your objectives. Black Ops forced you along routes I didn't necessarily want to take, whether by invisible walls or limited options - something I hated after BC2.

Haven't played it since I originally had in on 360, bur not only was the recoil and handling great in BC2 I think I remember the weapon noises being great. I spent a stupid amount of hours on hardcore with the M60. Never played the Vietnam expansion for it though, I wonder if that was as good as the base game.

Bad Company 2 also had a great campaign with interesting characters. Perhaps the last of its kind in FPS games.

One of the best expansions I've played yet. Player population is non-existent now, but the few matches I have played, it's a blast from the past. No expense was spared with its presentation; Viet Cong/USA chatter and player models are accurate, weapons are period appropriate, and the music selection is top-notch.

I actually prefer it to the base game. If it's one thing DICE nails with its Battlefield franchise, it's historical authenticity and immersion. Notice how I didn't say "accuracy."

Finally played my first Battlefield recently (BF1, it was on sale not long ago).
I love it. Think: "man, I should check out the newer titles".

I check the steam reviews and this thread.

"....oh no".

Guess I'm sticking with BF1 for now.

to be fair it's hard to top bf1, operations are more or less the peak when it comes to offer what the combined arms aspect of battlefield is about while still being structured enough casuals and retards know what to do and actually fucking do it (of course it doesn't help that DICE usually can't design themselves out of a wet paper bag, BF1 is like the monkeys accidentally typing up shakespeare...).

How does BFV compare to BF1 gameplay wise? The fact it still features classes and looks kind of similar at a glance is making me consider trying it in any case.

Also is BF4 worth trying this late?

Think of it as a less polished BF1. There's still Operations and a cinematic single player. You could build fortifications and customize your character. But, it's full of glitches. I'd still say try it if you can find it for cheap.
