The Liquidators event is turning out to be 90% paid content, as you can only get 4 or so items from playing the game:

Also, in "All Hands On Deck" DICE fashion, the event had to be temporarily disabled, due to it not working:

And as if the Shipping Crate Weapon Charm, and the Health Pack Weapon Charm in OW2 wasn't bad enough, DICE added the "knocking on the door" meme as a Weapon Charm, again symbolizing how Battlefield is yet another EA franchise that was ran straight into the ground:

Why would you even ask this question? Not only does the "expensive to build" part make you look bad (and The Sims devs use that excuse a LOT, to explain why a feature is missing in The Sims 4, while it's in older Sims games), but it comes off as refusing to acknowledge that older Battlefield games, and their maps that people still enjoy playing to this day, exist.

Putting a tanker and a bunch of shipping containers on an empty and quasi-flat map, that is not expensive.

Played some of the Liquidators event, and even without 90% of the content being moneygated behind bundles, the Tactical Conquest mode itself isn't very fun. It's basically Call of Duty Domination with everyone running about like retards to cap points.

It's just not in the spirit of Battlefield, and I'm sure with a little thought they could have designed something more Battlefield-like with the Dark Market theme in mind. As it is, it looks like a mid-season afterthought.

PRO-TIP: This was an ideal moment to introduce skins that fit the Liquidators theme but were actually different people and subsequently change the name of the Specialist when used. Ah well...

TIL that you could destroy the Rush objectives with RPGs in Bad Company 2. That makes sense.

I just bought BF1 since it's 88% off on Steam. I enjoy it but I really need to ask: Is the server browser complete shit for anyone else? I put my filters in and it will show me literally one server that's full and every other server is empty.

Dice's server browser has been shit for a long time. There was a period around BF3's release where a lot of FPS games wanted to ditch the server browser because console sales were breaking records and server browsers were only relevant on PC. Game devs started half-assing the server browser from that point on because they knew their console market didn't need it but the PC community would boycott games over it. The compromise was a browser that lacked features and was regularly broken.

No this was an issue when the game was released as well. The only place where this might happen is in Australia but on PC there are usually a bunch of rented servers still going on, at least there were when I last played a month or so ago.

What are your filters? I filter by slots (0 to 10) and theres usually 10-15 full or nearly full conquest, operations and TDM lobbies with good ping (and many more with shit ping).

Battlefield: Hardline would show empty servers when you'd initially open it each time.

I wish you could filter out empty servers.

The server browser has been shit since the day the game launched. Sometimes the browser shows a weird character instead of the number of players in a server.

try the series. fuck the whole UI in BF2 was a mess.

that's why people were glad they finally split the browser in bf3, which could be patched separately (and let you use browser addons), and not have to wait for months for fixes due to console certification (BC2 didn't show pings if you were behind NAT for 2+ months straight).
but then bf3 also attracted codkiddies and console shitters, who couldn't handle something pc players have been doing since the 90's (gamespy etc. always shat on any ingame browser), so they moved it back into the game, dragging us all the way back to square one...

It annoyed me that they removed this in later games. Blowing up MCOMs was one of my main strats in BC2. Assault, with the extra c4 perk. Push the MCOM. Cover it in c4. Arm it. Blow up the c4. Restock c4 from an ammo crate. Repeat.

In some maps, like Port Valdez, there were buildings next to the one the MCOM was in. You could push. Get into that. Throw c4 out the windows at the MCOMs and the other team were often unaware.

I can't recall but I don't think this function worked in Portal when I tried it last year. Along with many other things like collapsing buildings on MCOMs to take them out.

I assume it was for balance reasons. What's easier: arming a bomb or firing rockets from a distance?

Nothing sucks more than not getting past the first MCOMs. I liked that it gave you more options. It also wasn't easy to just blow up the MCOMs. It did take a lot of damage. It wasn't a case of just chucking a few rockets or c4. It took a lot.

Another fun tactic I had was in Valparaíso on the second set of MCOMs.One was on a stilted house in the water and you could plant c4 under the MCOM. Defenders often didn't click to what you were doing.

It made logical sense that the MCOMs would be affected by all explosives. If you're lucky, you could earn a couple kills from the tank.

I always got joy blowing the c4 on the MCOM when the defenders rushed in to disarm. Killing them all. Get the second batch of c4 on it before they can regroup.

Rush always had the issue of not enough people pushing to attack and just sitting back sniping. Which is another reason I hated the plant and defend approach after BC2.

That said, in BC2, BF3/4. So many rounds of Rush were won entirely by me getting all or almost all the MCOM arms. Yet you didn't get rewarded. Idiots I'd play with would mock my 5 kills to 30 deaths. Yet I literally won the round for the team.
