using the 'Vince Zampella-slash-Respawn model'.
so, the model that almost made respawn go bankrupt, had EA foot the bill, trying to recoup some of those losses with xbox exclusivity, which necked their whole IP from the start, fucked up titanfall 2 to the point it's basically dead too, and being so incompetent to let some autist DDOS the lobbies of both games FOR YEARS without lifting a finger?

ho boy can't wait how that "incredible leadership" and "rethought development" (guess V wasn't enough of a bomb to do it years ago) come to fruition...

Well they did try to fix Titanfall 2 but the same russian (?) guy and his friends kept hacking their servers. Pretty much the same thing happened to Red Dead Online 1, Rockstar tried to patch it a couple of times but it was a lost fight. If you boot up the multiplayer now on the 360 or the PS3, you might still find a pile of bodies in places like MacFarlane's Ranch that will give you infinite EXP until your console freezes.

So EA and DICE are trying to pretend that they're getting feedback about Battlefield 2042, by sending out surveys. Some of those questions include:

It's very obvious that EA and DICE know what Battlefield players want in a Battlefield game, but won't give it to them, because it wouldn't make them the $$$ that other games do.

And even after 5 months of the game being out, BF2042 is somehow still the #5 highest selling game in the US, in the current 12-month period.

>rented servers
fuck off with that shit, EA double dipping and the "community" eating it up because MUH STATS and other bs was and always will be cancer

>poor mans forge
mcoms should've always been randomized, but then dice' idea of "random" is shit like LEVOLUTION (most retarded name ever) which always plays out the fucking same. fuck even a scripted random timer would be make every map different at least (since you never know if and when it happens).
also if they want to make people create maps because their diversity hires can't even do that basic shit anymore just give us fucking mod tools and be done with it.

The May Update for BF2042 will be going live tomorrow. Notable changes include the removal of Breakthrough 128 (so 64 players is the only option for that mode), massive nerfs to Boris's sentry turret, Angel's resupply no longer gives armor, and the Bolte was finally moved to the armored vehicle category, to lessen the amount of Bolte spam.

Also, the #1 BF2042 player (statistics-wise), was permanently banned by DICE for hacking, but was quickly unbanned, so it appears to have been a false-positive:

And in the usual DICE fashion, they introduced some major issues with this patch. First, PC players are experiencing micro-stutters in game:

The second major issue, is that with the changes to Breakthrough being 64 players-only now, the maps that still use the 128 player-version start off with too many tickets, as in the old 128 BT count of 600-750. Normally, BT 64 is supposed to have 300-400 starting tickets.

Also, it appears that the wrong versions of the maps are being played on in BT. People have been playing on the 128 BT version of Hourglass, when it's supposed to be on the 64 BT version.

Got killed by an invisible player earlier. Also how come no one is interested in taking down helicopters and condor. Most of the players are running like headless chickens like if they were in CoD.

What is the point of next-gen then when its defining feature is removed? They should've tested it before release.

welcome to battlefield since 3, enjoy your stay.

find a few mates to play together, everyone playing like a retard means a single coordinated squad can basically steamroll the whole match.

It tried to be Call of Duty. It did not translate well.

I was someone who mocked Close Quarters when it was announced. Yet god damn, that was one of the best DLCs BF has done. I could endlessly play those 4 maps and never get bored. Literally better than the majority of COD MP games.

DICE appears to be getting close to Season 1 release for BF2042, so we may have some leaks coming out soon:

There is also apparently a funny glitch, where Casper's drone can somehow pick up downed bodies. I guess that's how the C5 drone interaction works, and how DICE never got rid of it yet, despite saying that it would be removed, back in December, I think:

And the datamined Paik skin, is the reward for this week's Weekly Mission:

If people remember Hotwire from Hardline: the objectives are cars. You gain points by driving in those objectives.

I didn't even know you COULD cheese it by driving around in circles. Isn't the intent of Hotwire to make chases?

Even so, Hardline's driving, while serviceable, can be clunky and basic.

Indeed, the Close Quarters DLC really brought the worst behavior into the franchise.
ironically I think that worked fine, for one the maps were build of it so hardly to shit up other aspects (to the point it was hard NOT to play the objective). it was also the time DICE still gave a fuck and did stuff like the armored kill right afterwards. it did however inevitably shit up the franchise with cod-rejects that suddenly thought they were hot shit for playing the "mature" battlefield versus "kiddie" cod.

you need a minimum speed for before it starts counting, it's literally the game version of the movie. that's why the van was the best shit ever, 5 dudes racing around shooting and repairing while getting chased and this blaring on the radio:

modern battlefield can't compete.

It would be nice if they introduced console-only crossplay to the next-gen versions of the game. It feels really different not having to deal with keyboard warriors, but then again I could say the same thing about any game that allows PC crossplay to be turned off.

The QoL treatments are nice even if they're late. Boris feels nowhere near as strong as he was before, and the armour nerf really impacts Angel. Not sure how I feel about only one helicopter on each side though. Sure, the aerial game was a little heavy before, but now? Feels like Bad Company 2 levels (where jets didn't even exist).

There were servers with massive ticket counts. We'd just go on them, get in cars and go AFK. While people drove us around for hours racking up points. Fun times!

I really do think Hardline was undervalued.
