I was thinking about re-installing Hardline the other day.
You should. More people the better.

Right now, I'm grinding towards the Nail Gun and the MAC10.

Good luck finding DLC. Thank you, EA Play.

As of now, there's only 200 people playing Hardline on Xbox.

Why is this game dead?

The game died within a few months of release.

I have premium and literally never played any of the DLCs on local servers in my part of the world.

Ea's strategy is to have the games die so people move on to the next ones. Never do anything to try and reinvigorate a game. BF2 lived on for years and after subsequent releases with a dedicated community. They shut it down.

Last time I've played DLC was four years ago. Even so, it was one server. That prison map. Thank God I didn't pay for it.

Hopped on 4 tonight just to be a homie. Found one squad where the guy was using the Little Bird all game, just sat there and repaired him. Would also RPG guys that he pulled up on. He would always say thanks and even apologized when he dropped street level and got us RPG'd. What a dude.

Some 3 man squad with 2 Engies with Javelins and 1 Recon laser marking vehicles. IDK what they were doing at first so I just stood in front of one guy and later t-bagged. I realize what they're doing, join in with my own, get some kills, then the guy stares me down while his friend t-bags.

These two experiences are why 4 will reign supreme out of 4, 1, V, and 2042 for me. Just the dumbest and simplest of fun with everyone there being homies. Except those guys sitting in corners on LAV-25s gunning you cross map.

Communication like that goes a long way.

I had just completed two achievements in Hardline: That's not a Knife! & Nailed It!

Throwing knives there aren't like CoD. You can't replenish them after being thrown. There's a delay between the throw and input. You "arch" them like a disc with varying results.

I'm surprisingly effective with the Nail Gun. High dropoff and low ammo, but moderate damage. Quite a fun little weapon in the woods. You could even get sprees with it if you're talented enough.

Nice, even after 8 months they still don't have anywhere close to the number of weapons BF4 launched with.

If anyone from EA is reading this, save yourselves the embarrassment and comp some of your games to the season pass holders in lieu of making 3 maps and 6 weapons over the course of 2024. The people who abandoned the game already are gonna laugh at the paltry amount of content, and the people still clinging to the game aren't going to stick around for two years to get nowhere near the support of even Battlefield V.

Take the L, scuttle the game, go back to the drawing board, and actually listen to what the Battlefield fanbase wants.

I always saw myself as a Battlefield lifer, played since 1942, but the BF2042 beta was so trash I refused to buy it. The game was half baked and full of ideas whose sole existence was to sell skins and nickel and dime the playerbase while releasing the least amount of content possible. Battlefield fans were pissed when it took 5 months to get 4 new maps in BF1, which turned into 6 by the time June/July rolled around, followed by 6 more in August and September. One map and two weapons in nearly 7 months is just unacceptable and shows DICE truly does not give a fuck.

What did you think of Hardline?

Just booted up 4. They put an ad in for Season 1 of 2042. That got a good chuckle out of me, lol. I'm too weird to be able to explain why it's funny, but it's kinda funny.

Edit: I should've read the post above me. :(

The UI is shit but the gameplay is really good. You don't have RNG bullets like in BF2042.
Gameplay feels more arcadey than previous Battlefields. Melee in particular is not Battlefield's strong suit. Sometimes, it's an animation, sometimes it's insta kill.

There's something humorous about being a profane bank robber wielding a sword during a bank heist.

Tried the game after the pre-Season patch:

- RIP Quips. The characters just stand there in the post-game rewards now, and the animations where they talk are clearly gone.
- Boris is shiiiiit now, because fuck that Slav I guess. Sentry gun only pings enemies, takes too long to move from spotting to firing, fires slower and only about 50% player damage in a full volley, and can be destroyed by a single magazine of ammo. Has nothing that Paik doesn't do better.
- Lobbies finally have minimum players joined displayed and server start countdown. I'm not sure why every damn game post-2004 doesn't have this by default.
- Bugs that bothered me the most seem to be fixed, though I didn't get to check if the infinitely exploding cars has finally been dealt with.
- Visual change, but vehicles you're locking onto have a full yellow highlight like the red highlights on that character trailer. Pretty weird, dunno if it was necessary. Maybe it can be turned off in options.
- Still no console-only crossplay.

Not sure why they even bother with Battlefield coin crap. Unless you can earn it for free there's no point to it, and with how badly the game performed I very much doubt that was their intent.
