I wonder who they'll get to make the game.
The only two I could see making it would be Obsidian or Inxile. Owlcat is too tiny to handle the project and no other company really has experience in making CRPGS like this. So basically Baldur's Gate 4 is most likely going to be Pillars of Eternity 3 or a reskinned Wasteland unless WOTC goes full retard and gives it to Bethesda or Ubisoft or something.

Inexile's been busy with a thing iirc. One sec.

Found it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2439280/Clockwork_Revolution/?curator_clanid=5506592

If Obsidian isn't freaking out about the tepid reaction from avowed and making sure it isn't shit then it's also doomed

Girlboss? Check
Nig? Check
Heckin bad capitalist/hwitey? Check
Main protagonist with vagina, who will be girlboss herself? 90% check
Probably, will have a boss, who will be heckin muh-soggy-knees-t too, for extra points in their calculators

Probably closer than you think. Hasbro owns Archetype studios, with many ex-bioware devs.
But as usual, Hasbro is hilariously incompetent. Instead of getting them to build a new BG/IWD/NN game, Hasbro is making a Mass Effect clone.

Sorry forgot to quote you. I don't think Obsidian is going to do anything outside their IP. And rumors were inxile were going to get to do a Fallout game since MS acquired Zenimax.

Really enjoying my half-orc Swords Bard run, I was going to do a pure run but I realized I kind of wanted better weapon proficiencies and maybe even the possibility of wearing heavy armour and upon thinking it over, took 2 levels of OoV Paladin and it hits. I'm level 8 doing easily 100+ damage per slot of Divine Smite- this is in the Shadow-Cursed Lands with Divine Sense and whatnot tacked on, with that being said, but fuck.
I had my SH Tempest Cleric taking 2 in Evo wizard for sculpt spells, and it's made her 10x more useable and the Tempest features are fun and feel great to use, definitely recommend trying it if you've never done it. I've always done rad orb+reverb build, but reverb is incredibly strong on a TC as well as one could imagine.
I'm probably due to advance my solo run, but it's a great time waster to just fuck around in the game with a full party and see what synergies exist when multiclassing since I had been in something of a rut running tried-by-me and true builds for my companions in duo runs, the pressure made it so that I wasn't so likely to explore and just take a level in something for shits and giggles. It's definitely not a build leaning on pure optimization, but I'm having fun. :)
Karlach is a Wildheart Barbarian, I do miss throwing shit around, but again, nice to experiment with something else.
All my other guys are being ran as usual- Wyll is full Fiend Warlock, Lae'zel is full Battlemaster, I don't have it in my heart to run Gale as anything other than an evo wizard because it's very clearly his thing, and 3 thief/9 gloomstalker Astarion is so good so I always run that as well, but maybe they'll be the next to receive a subclass makeover. I'm thinking about an ascended Astarion Origin run in OH Monk/thief dip but that almost seems silly to the point of not being fun anymore.
I love that I'm discovering new things every playthrough- I somehow had never found Worgfang, the dagger that gives advantage against goblins, in the worg pen until last week. lol. lmao even.

Second playthrough is pretty fun.
I was thinking it's be dull since I've done this stuff before, but then my shitty memory saved me.
The amount of times I've said, "Fuuck, what did I do to get through this part last time?" is a much higher number than even I expected.

If the profits for Exodus went to anyone but Hasbro, I'd be excited about it. The graphics and story seem excellent, and all of Bioware's games have had great gameplay/optimisation.

It's also fun from a roleplay perspective, Paladin oaths incentivise you to go down routes that would be otherwise be suboptimal and bards have a lot of fun dialog options and skills.

2/10 Bardlock is IMHO the best non-solo build in the game. You picked well. Just remember to not leave The dinosaur jungle until you find that ring.

Now you see why I take a few months between characters. I like being surprised, even to the point of installing a loot randomiser.

Ignoring Hasbro, I think it's too early to say, I don't think there's anything more than cinematic trailer. Beside, I don't think there was any good game made by ex-Bioware people.

I've been basically salivating like a feral animal thinking about what that ring will do for my build, I will absolutely not forget it, glad our minds went to the same place! It's funny because I don't tend to use guides but I feel like simply trying not to make any given invented build MAD kind of channels you into the known OP builds- I was telling a friend about my 2/10 build and he was like, ''Oh, what guide did you use?'' SMH and here I was, thinking I made something up.
Had I used a guide, I wouldn't have forgotten about Unseen Menace until level 8, haha. Phalar Aluve served me well for a very long time, however.

Second playthrough update-
Last night I got to the party with the tieflings.
Romanced Astarion somehow, I didn't even think he was that into my Tavitha but okay. Now I feel dirty. Might friendzone him later.

I've been playing around with mods. I'm using a class with all the tags, and Barbarians get so many hilarious options to intimidate with advantage. Shame they are such low CHA, but maybe a bard multi would work.

I've also tweaked the appearance of a few characters. "I think I'm a different person"

He wasn't, sex is a manipulation tactic to him. But continuing the romance leads to a beautiful story of reform and healing.

In my last game he was my little murder gremlin bestie. It worked out fine. If I have to deal with much more flirty dialog I might sell him to Satan for a corn chip... wait that's Gortash's backstory. Might have to get creative then.

Shadowheart is pretty chill about everything, I'm over here like, "Don't you remember all the sand castles we built together in an alternate reality?"

I think I'm going to go touch some grass now.

Played as a straight rogue/assassin Tavitha, because that's what I always play, whenever I play a CRPG that lets me play a little stealth gremlin. Focused on DEX and CHA the most. Dex was main, Cha was secondary, Int was third. Strength was dump stat. I have Karlach and Lae'zel for that. Con is always middling stat for rogues when I make them. A well played rogue is a rogue who is the least often hit on the battlefield. Or at least you try to be.

Stacked a lot of items to modify my CHA and I was rolling 30s/40s at one point. It was amusedly funny when I had four to five bonuses for my die. So I could roll a fucking two and still pass some checks without much problem. Critting Checks was not often but sometimes it was more amusing to see my checks pass the level by ten or fifteen points instead. Didn't really need to save scum rolls much after the first two hours. (Did save scum in the earlier zones cause I didn't wanna miss out on fun loot/reactions) Being able to con your way through certain boss/mini boss fights is also fun.

On topic of romances? Overall I would say the romances are just okay from a writing standpoint. They're serviceable for what they are. They're not that emotionally moving like some people make them out to be. I personally straight faced or eye rolled a lot of scenes because they just tried too hard to be emotionally evocative to the audience. Too much telling, not enough showing, y'know? Also there's also just too many faggots in this game. Will be modding the queer shit out next playthrough I do. Fuck all those faggot gnomes. (Barcus is cool though, I like Barcus. He's a neat little guy.)

I am finally trying to slowly but surely get into my first solo playthrough. Just after the game released 1.0 I played with 3 other friends, played a rogue Tiefling thief, stole some good stuff for my party, took mobility perks and constantly used high ground and sneak attacks with bows.

Long story short, they got increasingly frustrated with me hanging back and sniping at people, cause that would mean their characters would get focused harder and not "spread the damage" across all 4 of us. Eventually I just stood right next to them the whole time, dying over and over so they could have their fun and quit after clearing the goblin camp, venturing into the swamp and killing the evil druid woman in the grove or whatever. They finished the whole game without me, but it definitely soured my experience and made me unwilling to play the game until now.

The only heterosexual gnome in Sword Coast appears to be my Durge.
Fun fact, on the Forgotten Realms wiki, there are only 11 phrases/words listed in their Gnim (gnomish) dictionary. Two of those are words for "gay" and "transgender". Even in a fictional language no one cares about, the alphabets must be acknowledged.

Which honestly, for gnomes, is especially strange seeing as back in AD&D lore gnomes had (edited) church funded festivals for the purpose of keeping population in check. At least the svirfneblin did.

(Also my Durge is a gnome too. I think it's a great fit.)

How dare you play your class correctly and have fun doing it.

For real though, the single player experience is far better. Hopefully you have a great time experiencing the game on your own terms.

Yeah, since we played 4 custom characters we got completely locked out of the companion storylines. So far I am enjoying being a thieving, swindling rat.

Newest playthrough is a Shadowheart solo where I play her as a master of disguise (as appropriate given her domain).
Basically the entire playthrough will be Shadowheart interacting with everyone while disguised as various races.
Here's an instance where she's getting information from Zorru while disguised as a Githyanki...

When in combat, I highly recommend pushing opponents before ending your turn if you have the option.
Not because it will do anything useful every time, just that it feels so petty and childish and fun.

Speaking of fun, this video has some nifty stuff
