I respect the game for making retards dump dozens of hours with the idea they can make stupid ass decisions and the devs will cater to rescue them like it is a Ubisoft title.
In Divinity Original Sin (probably the 2nd somewhere as well, I just can't remember) there is a very early trap that will likely wipe your party if you spring it because Larian devs find that shit hilarious.

Having followed Larian for some time, since before D:OS I had outright told people that their design philosophy and ambition could turn them into the next Bioware if they got ahold of some decent funding and creative freedom. That was probably 10 years ago, I've been completely vindicated since. Even if you played Divinity: Dragon Knight Saga you can see that Larian really always had a ton of good ideas in their games, they just didn't have enough time and money.

If you follow the history of Larian Studios, it's a really great underdog story.

They have something similar at the beginning of the game. You find a wounded mindflayer and when you interact with him, there's a chance he will force you to get close enough for him to feed on your brain. If that happens, he will regain his health and kill your entire party. It will only happen if you get severely unlucky with dice rolls.

I don't think I ever lost all the rolls to him, but that's about the length of time into the game the trap in D OS appears too.

Imagine losing your Honor Mode run that way!

This made me lol

So, @PaladinBoo tells me that they might be making new Neverwinter Nights games in the future. If so, look forward to them. I'm really eager to see and group with my favorite Kobold Bard/Red Dragon Disciple Deekin Scalesinger again...

Except, according to the Forgotten Realms Wiki, he died. 😭

But maybe some other Kobold will continue his legacy!

This made me lol
Doesn't he say it once and then never again? I swear I tried to make it pop up again a dozen times because I thought I had misheard (especially since my Durge wasn't romancing him) and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. It does make it even better if it's a one-time thing.

Minthara has some of my favorite lines because of the dry delivery, but Astarion's "Thank you for helping me, it was very kind." is very high up as well, especially since it doesn't yield disapproval.

There's a mod that makes him look much younger. I feel like that fits a lot better. A young, up-and-coming "hero" who steals the hearts of the city with his charms and vigor. A lot of dialogue is tailored in a way that supports a far more handsome Gortash than what we see in the current game.

Maybe I just don't like change, but that seems worse somehow. lol

It has a bit of Robert Pattinson vibe going on, but that's what I got from all the dialogue surrounding Gortash. The narrator calls him a "young man" in particular which clashes with how he actually looks because his in-game model looks like he is in his 50s. What I got from the story, the narrator, and even Karlach's Origin story is that Gortash was handsome, charming, and put on an air of heroism that made him stand out.

Astarion has a few one-time lines that he says after you (if you're you-know-who) tell him about your heritage. This was another:

Casting Jason Isaacs as his voice kind made the "young" part weird, I guess.

As for fun voice lines, Gale and Shadowheart have a great chat about interior decorating as you enter the Bhaal temple. It's on Youtube -

Since the recent patch broke voice mods, I've been playing without a narrator. It's a more pleasant experience and has made me question the need for one in the first place.

Maybe to get into Tavs/Durge's head, but what if I don't roleplay them feeling those emotions? Especially for Tav, since he's my self insert. Cutscenes are a show don't tell thing, why do I need someones input when I'm going to skip one I've seen a million times.

might be some weird yuropoor "anti-agism" shit or something. I often see people with actual grey beards get called "young man" for some reason.

A youtube channel called "vampe" has put together all of Halsin's voice lines, the video is almost 7 hours long and they're out of order with no context, which can be hilarious.

At about 2:13:09 he says "Nevertheless I will be gentle" and it's followed with something that made me laugh so hard I had to sit down.

Is there source for this rumor? NWN was what got me into this genre and it's the reason I discovered the Divinity: Original Sin kickstarter.

Here's a funny scene involving a dead Gale. I guarantee you'll laugh once you know who he's talking too.

Now you see why I'm playing a halfling for HM, a 1/400 chance of rolling a 1. Then again, I had lost my first attempt at HM to the braindogs after the tutorial crash.

My first HM, Shadowheart didn't appear on the beach for some reason despite us saving her aboard the nautiloid, so I had to go at that encounter alone as a bard. I just started up another tactician run after that, fuck that. Halfling luck is a great asset for HM, good thinking.

So how many of you have accepted Lae’zel/Mintahra into your hearts?
Lae'zel was always the patrician choice. Oh, you want Shadowheart? Your goth gf you turn into a tradwife who probably thinks about fucking Halsin on the reg even when you're together.

Nah, nigga. Frog wife who is so autistically dedicated to you she will gut your enemies with a single word of wrongdoing flung your direction is where it's at.

Plus along the way you both learn the true meaning of love and companionship outside a military-species structure. It's one of the best love stories I can currently think of.

I have Minthara now and holy shit she's strong, love her abilities. Dunno if it's intentional but she stands in Halsin's spot at camp while he's off in some random area. Should be the other way around if they're not going to give her her own tent but at least they're not awkwardly sharing anymore.

Modders need to make a Pepe race already for total frog domination.
