Can you even romance Froggie while playing as origin Shart and vis versa?

Don't they fucking hate each other?
Are you familiar with the term “hate sex’?

Along with the horny, they are also making adjustments so it’s not always horny.

All paths are platonic if you don't choose the romance options.

I feel like people were following the romance paths but not wanting to admit it so they say that the game just sort of "does that."

I mean it does, a little bit, but the way reddit goes on about it you'd think it was WAY worse than it is.

Halsin and Shadowheart need a scene where they hook up no matter what else is going on with any other characters, because after seeing her checking him out at the brothel when he asks to join in the orgy? LOL The girl has been stressed, let her have a little fun with the oversized park ranger already!

Confession: I still haven't cleared Act 2 because I can't stop playing PalWorld with my limited gaming time.
Helps you understand Minthara better.

The Halflings and Dwarves have earned some proper loving man.
Yes, real shame we can't recruit one of the grymforge duergar into our party. They hate the absolute and would suit an evil playthrough.

  • Made several improvements to the combat with the Gondians, who will be much more careful now. For example, we raised their Dexterity to 14, gave them the Blur spell, gave them better armour, and granted them Light and Medium Armour Proficiency.
Finally! hopefully they'll be less 'unalive-dal'

I’m not too far into the game but it would be cool if the duergar were part of the final battle.

Late Valentine’s Day but I saw this art and it was cute.
Wow someone managed to make Frogger cute. Also I wish we had the scar options that she, and various other characters like halsin, have. They're clearly in the game. Just fucking let us use them.

Speaking of the brothel, I found it painfully on brand that not only does this game have incestuous twins, but your only dialog options for them are shit like, paraphrased:

1. Well as long as you enjoy it, who am I to judge

2. This isn't for me,

3. As long as no ones being hurt I don't see any issue with it

Like no. There definitely is something wrong with a brother and sister being prostitutes together. There should absolutely be an option to shame them for their fucking disgusting life choice. Even if you wanna pretend like prostitution was totally kosher with everyone in ye-old-times (it wasnt), having a brother and sister pair who fuck eachother is definitely worthy of, AT LEAST, a side eye or snarky comment. Not this current year aversion to "kink shaming" bullshit. It's also pretty funny that Shart said some shit to me about "oh I want our first time to be with eachother only" but she's also totally down for being eiffel towered/spit roasted if it's with the knife eared furry.

Also speaking of Act 3: why is this when the Dragonborn lizard people start showing up? Why do we not see even a single one in the first 2 acts and why do they sound exactly the same as a normal human instead of having a more bestial voice? And why do we also not see a single orc until act 2?

That'd be like playing an Elderscrolls game and not seeing a single argonian, khajiit, or orc until 75% into the game. And they all just sound like every other human adjacent character you've seen before when you do finally see one.

Canonically, dragonborn are extremely rare in the Sword Coast, outside their martial dictatorship kingdom. The only natural place to run into them are big cities like Baldur's Gate.

Frogger has always been good looking @Rick The Stick , you just have to be an even uglier character to respect that.
With the options we're given in creation, that's almost unavoidable.

I was not aware, and have been learned something. But how canonical is this game to D&D as a whole? Like is this 5e lore or overall canon? Genuinely curious.

As far as I can tell, most of what Larian did in the game, they have Wizard of the Coast (D&D owner) implicit approval. WOTC even went so far as to release a 5e adventure module that serves as a prequel to the game: Descent to Avernus, which also features Duke Ravengard and to a lesser extent, the tieflings in Act 1. (In fact, the events in the module are referenced multiple times in the game, everything from why the tiefs are in the druid grove, to why the duke was at Waukeen's Rest in Act 1.) The Absolute cult also got a minor mention in the module itself (though obviously not elaborated on at the time).

It is safe to say the game will probably be considered canon until proven otherwise.

Oh shit. So Wizard went beyond just endorsing it, they straight up said "this shit is hard canon"? That's crazy to me. I'm so used to bethesda and CDPR, or even Star Wars under Lucas, type "we take what we like and ignore what we don't" shit, that I kinda thought that this was just a "you can use our stuff but it's not part of the greater whole" sorta thing. That's super interesting to me.

YUCK!! I don't like it. It's too weird. I like it better the other way. Watching an Ilithid toss and turn in bed like a person was bad enough, but the whole pillow-talk thing with the way they've done is just so awkward and horribly animated.

This one is much better and I'm super glad they put it in. During my Shart romance, instantly the thing I thought of was, she's crying so why isn't my character comforting her?!

Well, now we can.

Aye. Larian has not disclosed how much control WOTC has over the entire writing, but I'm willing to bet good money that all major story beats were run through them first, at least. It's also why I'm very willing to believe that a lot of the "woke" mandates this game has originated from WOTC first, and only later filtered through Larian's own interpretation.

WOTC also had been sort of canonising the prior two games as well, by giving Gorion's Ward a canon name (Abdel Adrian). This was after a period where WOTC had done nothing to acknowledge the events of the first two BG games.

@Rick The Stick: Incestuous prostitute twins; sounds like a fun kill challenge for a Dark Urge/"Evil" playthrough.

It is a shame that the Dragonborn don't show up until the final act, I agree; as said by @Kane Lives, the Dragonborn are in fact rather rare in the area, so it makes sense. Still disappointing, though.

@Cheeseknife: Never could understand why the hell Larian put this in the game; I mean, the Ilithids are supposed be alien in terms of overall mindset, so having them act out sex shit like this just hits the uncanny valley in the worst way.

Comforting Shadowheart sounds like a welcome edition, if you ask me.

I mean, there is one particular Dragonborn that can show up in Act 1 of the Durge playthrough…
You end up finding a love letter dedicated to her in the cells of the Murder Tribunal which is bittersweet considering her dialogue at camp, and the bard in the Guild will be like, ''Of COURSE I know of her music, she's great!'' and it was like a knife through my heart, lol. Still better than the alternative, but I really hated it.

Weren't Dragonborn added late in development? Hence also why the Dream Vistor cannot become one?

Aye. The very last to be revealed before it left early access apparently. Many speculated its the reason why the Dream Guardian cannot be dragonborn but I find it a little suspect, considering how dragonborn PCs already share the same voicelines as other Tavs. It might be an animation/model thing, but if so, it would be something they can add post-patch, which they don't seem to be in a hurry to do so.

Story-wise, I can think of a very good reason why your Dream Guardian can’t be a Dragonborn. Obviously have no idea if that’s the reason or not, but it would make for a damn good one.
