I didn't know saving Omelum was blocked by the git egg quest. So I just followed the melanted gnome's advice and blew the factory sky high.

If you save the factory, can you make the two gnomes peace out or do you need to kill the darkies you spent effort rescuing from Moonrise?
The one in charge that gave you the bomb will start insisting you kill all the factory workers “now now now NOW NOW!”, and his friend that youve been helping the entire time will finally tell him to fucking calm his shit down. You can get the friend to become the new leader and exile the murder boner guy from the clan, and he’ll swear revenge on you and run off.

I was dense and didn’t realize non-lethal attacks only applied to melee at first, so I ended up killing almost all of Auntie Ethel’s victims during the first encounter with them. Something I’m going to fix on my next playthrough.
Wait, you don't have to kill them?? I want to start a new playthrough now and mess around with non-lethal attacks, thanks for the inspiration.

There's a few fights where the enemy almost always wins the initiate score that I've felt are absolute BS. Since then I almost always give all my party members the Alert feat.
DOS2 was the worst for this, since if you didnt take the initiative feat, every single battle in the game would start with enemies nuking your entire party with all their AOE attacks on the first turn.
Playersexual" is honestly the stupidest shit I've heard, it's total game designer loneliness where they never touched a girl and think everyone wants to fuck absolutely everyone else constantly. You're right, the only option not available in games like this are a hetero man and woman just wanting to be together.
You think this is something you want until you romance a character and they're fucking gay. Sosiel ruined my lich playthrough in WOTR by not being straight. I heard he has amazing dialogue if you romance him on the path to lichdom where you have completely buck broken his spirit and turned him into an obedient cuck.
Anyone else tell Gale to tighten his belt in act one and only fed him like 3 shit-tier artifacts before the game forced his quest to move on?
I might actually buy the game with all the good coverage. Just two questions: What is a good protagonist class? Usually martial classes are very limited in the ability to solve problems. And is Dark Urge good for the first time (without acting on it)?
Martial classes are bonkers once you get the class feat that allows you to attack twice in one turn, combined with action surge and a good weapon you can do 80+ damage in a single round with good rolls. Not great for crowd control, but the Gloves of the Growling Underdog give you advantage when flanked meaning you can just wander into the middle of a brawl and just start murdering people. Only played with two fighters so far (Laezal and Tav) but between the two of us we are doing amazing damage. Astarion is there to clean up weakened enemies and Gale is there to cast shatter on any idiots stupid enough to clump together. Best way to use a martial class is as a leader killer imo.

Oh, here's something from the creator of the Ser Aylin mod:

I love how these alphabets are constantly redpilling normies by being the very bigots they pretend to hate.

Does it actually offer anything for someone who does not care about that?

People have spent a good amount of time talking about gameplay too.

In particular, the game allows you a ton of freedom in how you're to overcome puzzles and obstacles, all depending on your class. There's lots of flavor.

So is it still worthwhile if someone completely ignores that aspect of the game and doesn't romance anyone?

That much focus on waifus/husbandos and the "bear sex" thing gave me the impression this game is woke fujobait with MCU tier writting.

You can complete the game without romancing anyone. You can even kill all your companions if that's what you want and use hirelings instead.

The whole bear sex thing was just what the internet hyped up because DnD fans are a bunch of obnoxious weirdos. If the game is too woke for you, this thread has listed a few mods that will ease your pain. Like the "no alphabets" mod.

99.9% of the discussion i see about this game everywhere i look is about romance options. Does it actually offer anything for someone who does not care about that?
I did my first playthrough without any romance, it's just reddit being sex mad again.

Sven has written out what he wanted to say about getting the GotY if he wasn't cut short.
Winning Game of the Year is a great honor and I want to first thank everyone that voted for us and I want to congratulate all the other nominees. This has been an incredibly competitive year and you each would have deserved to win this award: Capcom, Remedy Games, Insomniac Games, Nintendo. I want to thank Geoff Keighley and the people that organized The Game Awards for creating an award show so big that it gets mainstream attention. While 30 seconds is a bit short, there's nothing like the game awards and it's an incredible achievement.

I wore armor at The Game Awards because BG3 is a game that couldn't exist without our player community and I wanted to pay tribute to how important they've been for development. You rock, community BG3.
Making a game like this only works if you have an incredible, passionate, and talented team and in that regard, I am incredibly lucky with Larian Studios--they are some of the finest and they did a truly amazing job. Over 2000 people are listed in the credits and since I can't call out everyone, I want to focus on a group of people that don't always get the credit they deserve. Team QA, Team Localisation, Team Customer Support, Team Operations, Team Publishing, Team Play Testers, and every other developer at Larian, BG3 wouldn't exist without you and you all deserve to be very proud of this.

I want to dedicate this award to the friends and family members we lost during development including Jim, our lead cinematic animator, who passed away last month and personally, to my father, who passed away the week before we launched our Early Access Campaign. You don't get to make something like BG3 if you don't have the support from the people around you. Personally, I really want to thank 5 special people, a crazy dog, and a one-eyed cat for sticking with me.

Big shout out also to our localization partners and PitStop Productions who had to use every corner of their building to record and performance capture what was an insane number of lines. To our actors -- you did great. I hope our paths will cross again in the future and your agents will remain their usual reasonable selves.

I also want to thank Wizards of the Coast and specifically the Dungeons & Dragons team for giving us carte blanche. I'm really sorry to hear so many of you were let go. It's a sad thing to realize that of the people who were in the original meeting room, there's almost nobody left. I hope you all end up well. There are many more partners I want to thank. We asked much of you all, but you delivered and without your efforts, BG3 would not be what it is.

I want to end with a story of a conversation I had a long time ago with a publisher. He told me, luckily for them, games are driven by idealism. He meant it as an exploitative way but he was right. Games are a unique art form, as important as books, music, or movies. Many developers, myself included, make games because they love seeing others engage with their creation in a way only games can offer. Edit (added continuation): They don't care that much about the money made beyond it being the fuel they need to create new and better games. It's worth reminding everyone that fuel is but a means, not a goal. Whereto and how we journey are what matter and what we remember.

Thank you.

Also -- BG3 is now out on Xbox.

He only eats a max of 3 items anyway. It’s just that some people didn’t have many magical items on them when he does ask that made it seem like he was constantly inhaling them.

What’s funny is that you can have bajillion mod for Karlach having a giant penis or have the companions to be “trans” on Nexus.
Genderbent Aylin? Nooooooooooo coz muh Nazi etc.

It's called "softer" which probably means it's just an edit. I just dl'd it, going to check it out in a bit.
I read the description and it sounds like they took it from another face called Themia. I'm sorry, I'm not entirely sure if they just took that and tweaked it or not.

I'm an easily confused old man.

Yeah, I've been seeing some other mods where they mimic the faces from Ellie and Abby from TLUO2 :cringe: I'm guessing these are standard templates?

Regardless, the mod is pretty ok, makes both characters far more...cute.

I'm in a similar situation but not only I would like to ignore the romance, but everything. Just killing everybody and not talking to anyone.

But I think this game is way too story-focused for me. I was even prepared to buy it but I realized it's not for me. It's a shame because I think the battles seem fun.

I just love calling them Sharty and Minty. Sharty approval increased, millions must worship Shar.

E;R tried streaming BG3 recently, and it was a massive disappointment. This brought to mind the fact that there's a chunk of people who dislike or refuse to participate the modern CRPG scene because the good CRPGs are the ones that necessarily need the player to be engaged. Josh Strife Hayes talks about this:

E;R's stream is a good example of someone who just doesn't seem that engaged with the medium and is more of a passive consumer.
