Christ i hope they leave neil alone. Dude doesn't need the crazy fans to bother him.

Game looks like a lot of fun. I saw shenpai playing it and there's some old lady in a home with a girl and the lady is this big monster thing underneath. Terrifying.

How difficult is the game because my understanding is that its like Nintendo hard
I feel for Neil too, he has to put up with tons of horny fangirls who don't understand what boundaries are. It gets even worse when you realize that he's an actual abuse survivor and that this role was really personal for him. Can't blame the poor man for how blatantly disgusted he is by ascended Astarion defenders.

As someone playing on the normal difficulty, I have to say it can get fairly challenging. Fights can easily take a turn, even some of the earliest ones, and almost everything being decided by a dice roll means that a lot of it is luck. Of course, it also depends on your playstyle, class, party members, level, etc. I've save scummed/reloaded more times than I can count. Sometimes you'll have an easy victory and others you'll barely scrape by, but that's part of the fun.

I wish Shenpai would record more BG3. Currently her Shenpai Streams channel has 13 videos of it. There needs to be more.

As for "save scumming," that is my life. lol I have more saves than my character has random buckets in her inventory. Nothing wrong with it unless you're playing honor mode or have a bet going or somesuch.

@Johan Hulth
Well thats a fucking shame, it sounds a million times more compelling than what we got and in my opinion Warlock is a great class for a conman/charlatan type of character.
Speaking of changes from early access: I heard Alfira was meant to be a companion but was cut in favour of Halsin, that annoyed me since the final game has two god damned druid companions yet no bard or monk companions (and guess sorceror but eh thats the dark urge's class).
Still, I am hopeful that this game will get some effort mods that add companions, fully voices ones thanks to the power of AI
I loved old Wyll being a fucking conman who took a deal with a succubus for power so he could pretend to be the hero he says he is. It also explained why no one had heard of the Blade of Frontiers, since he was just a name he gave himself so he could get free drink and spin tails at bars while playing hero. As for Alfira as a companion instead of Halsin, it was obvious Halsin was going to be a companion, he had his own spot in camp after the party he'd stay at, we assumed we'd get Alfira but at the party she was another tiefling and didn't have anything unique to her unlike Halsin who always had a unique body and face model. We also didn't know that we'd get previous BG companions back when people asked for Halsin, if people knew during EA that Jaheria would be a playable companion again, I doubt they would've asked for Halsin. Halsin is also way less interesting than he seemed since he's just BIG elf that's strong, reads books, and fucks a lot. There's no depth to him at all.

That would have been so much better. I never had any strong feelings about Wyll until during my previous save when I finally upgraded Karlach's engine so she could be touched and then during the next long rest he interrupted what would have been a hilarious giant tiefling on forest gnome bard snusnu session with his gay nigger spaghetti spilling dance event. That whole scene had strong middle school awkward flirting cringe vibes and it especially showed on his face when I told him to fuck off.

Current honour mode run is a monk instead and NPC reactions to most of the monk exclusive dialogue options reminded me of this article:

I’ve been playing this because my dad bought it then decided it was too PC and dropped it. Honestly, I’m having a blast with it. With this first play through I’m being relatively good and helpful, so Astarion hates me but Gale is my bff. I went in expecting to like Astarion but I kind of just don’t… when he wanted to bite my character I was like wtf get away from me! I understand he’s really traumatized or w/e but the creep factor behind trying to drink from one of his party members outweighs whatever appeal he had to me tbh.

Wait what, explain
Neil has said in interviews that he relates heavily to the abusive survivor themes in Astarion’s storyline because he himself went through abuse in the past. He hasn’t gone into any detail past that and doesn’t want to share the personal details with anyone other than close friends.

You like Shenpai or is she like a lolcow for you?

The Steel Watch Foundry was awful and eventually I stopped bothering with trying to keep all the Gondians alive, fucking idiots constantly put themselves in danger. The Titan was pretty smooth sailing in comparison.

So this isn't actually tweaking their face, it's just a complete replacement?

It's called "softer" which probably means it's just an edit. I just dl'd it, going to check it out in a bit.

Also, I just found a "Santa Claus" mod that allows you to choose Old Saint Nick as a diety. That's funny,

I did a lot of save-scumming and managed to pull it off. Definitely takes a while though, along with coming into the big area when one of the robot guys is really far back.

Do you get anything out of it other than an achievement?

I didn't know saving Omelum was blocked by the git egg quest. So I just followed the melanted gnome's advice and blew the factory sky high.

If you save the factory, can you make the two gnomes peace out or do you need to kill the darkies you spent effort rescuing from Moonrise?

If you keep the egg, there's an epilogue for it now. Apparently Lae'zel will give him a name and volunteer to raise him.

In my last play through I didn't bother trying to save them all because my party lacked good AoE. but I accidentally ended turn next to an exploding bot and one of those little fuckers ran in and thunderwaved my character out of the blast radius. I will never let them die again.

I blew up the factory and was able to get them to team up I had already rescued all the hostages in the iron throne though.

I’m not in stuff like this for achievements, I try to keep as many characters alive as I can in general. Even if their AI is shit and they’re suicidal.

I was dense and didn’t realize non-lethal attacks only applied to melee at first, so I ended up killing almost all of Auntie Ethel’s victims during the first encounter with them. Something I’m going to fix on my next playthrough.
