Yeah it's so bad that both the West and Japanese hate it.No, it was worse. Whatever you are thinking, it was worse.
Though if there are other endings we can discuss worse than AOT, I'd like to throw Platinum End into the ring.

Domestic Girlfriend definitely deserves to be mentioned as well.Though if there are other endings we can discuss worse than AOT, I'd like to throw Platinum End into the ring.
And it's not even close. While they both ended up literally crying, Light at least didn't unnecessarily kill his own family (I think he was willing to if absolutely necessary, but did love them). Out of all the problems with AoT, the more I think about it the more that bothers me.Honestly, Eren doesn’t hold a candle to this shit.
I actually read that first, I think. I do like it more, mostly because it goes on a bit longer, whereas the anime pretty much ends right when Light dies.Read the manga ending, much better.
It was unsatisfying but at least interesting, and nobody's character was ever ruined in service of its bad ending. It also wasn't as convoluted either.Yeah it's so bad that both the West and Japanese hate it.

That shit hit so hard when I first read it. AOT could only dream.I actually read that first, I think. I do like it more, mostly because it goes on a bit longer, whereas the anime pretty much ends right when Light dies.
It wasn't any particularly crucial content anyway, and leaving off on the altered Light death is more impactful than lingering so it was probably the right call, but I like the extra scenes, especially the mournful Kira cult. It showed it wasn't just people living in fear under Kira, there were people who were thankful.
Marmalade Boy called to get its plot line back.Domestic Girlfriend definitely deserves to be mentioned as well.
I for one learned a lot about grooming from usagi drop and am heading straight for the orphanage as we speakAt least Desth Note and AoT post time skip didn't go where nobody wanted it to go like with the manga Usagi Drop.
But he was only defeated in combat because he allowed it.Here I thought it was just Eren giving up, but nope, he got defeated in combat and his blubbering happened after he was beat. Exactly what was wrong with the ending? Was it not perfect or was it just bad or..?
I interpreted this as Erens mind being fucked so badly from all of the memories of the past and present that he somehow thinks he sent a titan to kill his own mother. The retarded twist that he killed his own mom and ruined his own damn life
I guess that could make sense. If he’s just searching for the sweet release of death.I interpreted this as Erens mind being fucked so badly from all of the memories of the past and present that he somehow thinks he sent a titan to kill his own mother.
I doubt it's suicide but Eren wasn't exactly normal after touching Historias hand. Still, Isayama should have really thought over the implications of that plot point.I guess that could make sense. If he’s just searching for the sweet release of death.
There are a lot of plot points he seemingly didn't think over the implications of.I doubt it's suicide but Eren wasn't exactly normal after touching Historias hand. Still, Isayama should have really thought over the implications of that plot point.
Its almost like the author is a huge hack and the writing is fucking terrible. There are a lot of plot points he seemingly didn't think over the implications of.
Death note and AoT have similar problems. In both cases the writer made the protagonist way too competent to actually lose in any realistic way and in death note also killed the 1 person that was equally compent and stood a chance against light. That's hilarious, maybe that'll be my April Fool's avatar.
The Death Note ending was way better though at least. Light was uncharacteristically overconfident, they basically had to nerf him to make him lose and it just doesn't feel believable, but it's still a fun watch.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it too. The only excuse I can give is Light may not have expected Near to use the Death Note (like Matsuda theorized in the manga), something L wouldn't have done, since he expected Near as the successor of L to also play "fairly". But even so, Light wouldn't have barked out "I win", he didn't trust Mikaki THAT much, that's a stupid mistake...There's absolutely no fucking way light loses, but if he did that is how he would react. It still feels cheap and forced, but at least its not insulting.
There's also the issue of of near discovering the notebook, looting it from the vault, making a perfectly indistinguishable 1:1 copy, and planting it back in the vault, all in the span of less than a single night.Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it too. So actually I'm back at square 1, yeah, there's no way Light would've lost lol.
Yes. He tells armin onscreen both in the manga and anime that "berthold had to live" so when nina's titan was heading toward him eren decided to redirect the titan to kill his mother instead.Did they show that Eran is responsible for his mother's death?

I think both endings are dogshit but AoT is significantly worse because it ruins eren's character while nerfing his compence, while death note comes up with contrived bullshit to make light lose but at least it keeps his character relatively true to the end.
I.e. There's absolutely no fucking way light loses, but if he did that is how he would react. It still feels cheap and forced, but at least its not insulting.
I’ll always say it’s worth it just for Light’s full on villain speech.Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it too. The power of the killer notebook, bitch! And dedicating your life to this shit. There's also the issue of of near discovering the notebook, looting it from the vault, making a perfectly indistinguishable 1:1 copy, and planting it back in the vault, all in the span of less than a single night.
The fight between light and L felt intresting because its shit any normal person could reasonably come up with and when you DO see it, you feel cleverer and its something you could reasonable apply in everyday life in similar sitiuations.
Like when L worked out light was a student based on the scedule of killings lining up with a japanese student's schedule that was insanely clever.
It makes sense, its not a far fetch, and it doesn't require unreal intellect or money to work out, its just clever deduction.
But "I made a carbon copy of a book with thousands (if not tens of thousands) of names, overnight after looting it and planting it from a bank offscreen while you weren't watching" is pure bullshit because at that point you basically have fucking superpowers.
