I was surfing the internet on my usual places and I saw a lot of AoT threads and discussion, even on boards and forums that are unrelated. Thinking it's not mere coincidence I did a quick investigation and found out that the anime reached the cuck ending.
The absolute meltdown when we had the manga ending was great, but it seems, the anime ending triggered such an intense butthurt, that it's echoing across the internet.
Honestly I'm glad that such a popular anime did this. I am of the opinion that the medium has to crush and burn and from the ashes something new should arise. Looking at anime now, versus anime 20 years ago, it's shocking how much the medium has degenerated.

If it wasn't for the predeterminist bullshit Eren and Armin's conversation added, which the story itself proves ridiculous and is completely cheapened by, I would have been fine with the ending. I can tolerate everything else. Full awareness and control over the entire timeline of titan power existence, and somehow he's powerless to change a single thing? He even caused a lot of it on purpose? Horseshit. It breaks the story for me. They try to fix it here by saying he tried a bunch of alternate scenarios and they all lead to this somehow. It's not enough. I liked Slaughterhouse Five but that story wouldn't work if the main character had the powers Eren does and frankly I didn't entirely buy the predeterminism in that story either.

Mappa's adaption was surprisingly decent though. I was expecting way more and shittier CGI. The only part that really stood out as bad to me was the plane flying over the founding titan, everything else was fine. I actually liked the fights more than I did in the manga. Better pacing overall too.

The advantage of having Titans was waning in the face of rapid technological advancements of a world that hated them. Even if peace talks were viable they would have to place all their hopes on that longshot and lose their only opportunity to secure their existence.

They had one opportunity for continued existence and Eren threw it away, and another option for living out at least their own lives in peace with Zeke's plan, and Eren stole that option from them too by betraying Zeke. And look how things turned out, that fake gay peace was temporary, and they were obliterated.

The Eldians vs the World blood feud, for better or worse, was never going to end without one side genocided. Eren may have been a retarded incel mass murderer, but at least he knew this basic elemental truth and made damn sure he took about 90% of the world's population and made the surviving 10%'s lives irrevocable hell via destroying the environment and rendering their cities and civilisations to rubble that would take centuries to rebuild, that his friends would be able to survive for a couple of decades, be allowed the basic human right to have kids, and have better lives than the outside world, before the outside world could get their shit together to retaliate.

For one thing, I think that's overthinking it and just an assumption, I don't remember that ever being mentioned as a genuine threat. It reminds me of when people try to power scale in DBZ using planetary density as factors, as if Toriyama actually considered Planet Vegeta's density so nerds could apply real world physics to Frieza's feats. I'm inclined to believe that even if that's a logical assumption as to what would happen in real life with a Rumbling that it wasn't a serious consideration by Isayama at the time.

For another, that's a pretty difficult thing to estimate in real life, so we don't know for sure if it would render the entire Earth uninhabitable. Life is pretty adaptable and our planet has went through some extinction level events before yet life persevered. Humans could probably figure out a way to survive, and regardless, it's still better to gamble on it than to put yourself at the mercy of those who want you dead.
