This is like a reverse of Game of Thrones. GRRM saw his ending play out on HBO and now has to either do the impossible, which is rewrite and fix it, or just plow through his remaining novels for the original awful ending. With Attack on Titan they have the forced defeatist work of having to adapt one of the worst endings in modern storytelling. Just imagine how deflating and awful it has to be to know that you are working on something doomed to be hated. And probably hated more the more involved the fans are. Because hardcore fans seem to hate the ending more than anyone.

Holy fucking shit, I cant wait to see how painful that last scene with CRYren is animated, complete with voice acting and animation. Its going to be one of the most unpleasant anime experiences for sure.
