Shit, I've run into a bug that's probably killed my save file. I was looting some of the village and ended up picking a weapon off the floor I already had - no big deal, it's happened before. Problem is this time I'm stuck with the new pistol in my right hand, and CHARLS is stuck in his looting animation.

I can't change weapon, I can't fire off SHOK or other abilities, and I can't even interact with any doodads. Reloading brings me back to the point I picked up the gun, and I'm not in a position where killing myself is possible.

Anyone run into this?

It's fun pandering. Maybe that makes me a turbo coomer, but I remember when games could have stuff like this as standard and it wasn't a big deal. It's only the last decade or so where every female character has to be flat chested and ugly. They also have a unique design, again a rare thing after a decade of AAA games making every character from the same three templates deemed inoffensive.

That said, a lot of the hype around them feels somewhat forced, as if people are looking for the next Lady Dimitrescu.

I remember that era (though I'd put it around 2008 or so) where "slav jank" was a thing.

What gets me is that there's no games coming out of India.
 
They do have a point, aesthetics is an extricable part of futurism and robotics in particular in a setting where technology is progressing rapidly and the line between man and machine is already blurring.
They build enormous sculptures as monuments, why wouldn't they treat their machines as works of art? And if they're designing the next stage of evolution themselves, should they discard the millions of years of collaborative agreement that went into sculpting the human form?

Sex is also something we're going to have to figure out as technology advances. There really isn't much of a difference between human-like androids used in commercial and entertainment contexts, convincing prostheses for medical contexts, and sexbots. The Twins are ballerina models, and a whole chapter of the game deals with the treatment of talent in a high-class theatre, their replacement by synthetic ballerinas, and the subsequent treatment of those robots--and the relationships, including love, of the staff there.

The game does have its share of stuff that looks juvenile like the giant pumping robo-cocks, but I think even that might be making a point, like how the optional labs where scientists are researching how citizens will live and stay sane in space are littered with test dummies in sex poses. You're left to wonder what the fuck is up with that (or if it's simply the devs being wacky) for most of the game, until it's finally addressed in the form of a question for the player in the final lab.

It's good marketing too and I don't really think sexy girls require justification anyway. Who the fuck complains about that

I generally like Synth but I think this is a bad review. Firstly he complains endlessly about the tone being more goofy than horror inspired when this is very clearly supposed to be a dark humor satire of a retro future world a la Fallout

For fuck's sake Atomic Heart even has it's own version of the pip Boy and Vault Boy mascot literally called "Soviet Boy" in the perk menu and loading screens .This obviously was never meant to be like Bioshock 1 in tone.

Secondly this reminds me a lot of his Elden Ring review where he says the combat is flawed but because the mechanics are bad and not because he's personally bad at it.

Despite being a gamer Synth is not very good at games and his streams reflect that. I think possibly the best illustration of that is in his Dark Souls 2 stream he dies dozens of times to basic hollows and comically easy bosses like Ruin Sentinels.

He should really stick to complaining about sjws because these reviews are getting kind of bad.

Last update released the (terribly) edited Nu Pogodi episode. Here's the original if anyone's feeling inclined to restore it for themselves.

Fortunately all the video files are open (except the ones that still have the antisemitic stereotype powers upgrade videos), so you can literally just plop it into AtomicHeart/Content/Movies/NuPogodiNew and replace it.

Cheers. What I assume was the tutorial for it went a bit nuts, and didn't play any dialogue. I had no idea exactly what I just did for that sequence.
