I haven’t played an assassin’s creed since black flag and while what I’ve played of Vikangz is pretty good it doesn’t feel like an assassin’s creed to me yet. For as bad as III was my fondest memory of the series was going to the first town and just amassing a pile of bodies, like twenty to thirty minutes worth of them because I had either become that adept at the combat or it was just that easy and the guards were plenty.

You're playing two completely different games though, just given the same name. Black Flag was in the framework of everything that came before and didn't really change until Unity and Syndicate, which still kept the same basic gameplay mechanics. Origins onwards are just complete RPG grindfests that honestly feel like the antithesis of the first five games. Ubisoft basically ruined the feeling of being this historical ninja that can actually stealthily assassinate people in order to sell people short cuts in their level up grind simulator and it sucks. I've been wanting AC games set in feudal Japan and the viking age for over a decade, but not if they're just going to be generic hack and slash games with the AC name slapped on.

Because they literally feel that Brand Names will be the only things that sell and don't want to branch out because that means taking the time and effort to build up a series. If it's not something people are familiar with, they won't want to shell out $120 bucks for DLC on an unproven series that just got it's first installment.

So now you're getting to the point where they've run out of road and have started to sell us the fucking trees they've crashed into.

The fucking French have their heads up their asses, nothings changed in centuries.

i stopped playing AssCreed after Brotherhood and from 3 to Valhalla the games were all just reskins of each other or a reskin of Witcher 3.

The story is also just a repeat of itself
Protagonist's motivation? dead parents or in origins dead son
Is the main conflict templars vs assassins? Not till the end
Is the modern day story interesting? Not after AC:Brotherhood
 
Witcher 3 came out a handful of months before AC Syndicate, the last of the AC games that controlled in the classic style. Origins and everything post are generic hack n slashes. How in the fuck are they reskins of Witcher 3? All the Witcher games are notorious for god awful combat and 3 was no exception either. It managed to suck less than 2, that was it.

It's a game set in one of the most tumultuous, violent periods in human history, focusing on pagan warrior clans, where you straight up murder the fuck out of Christians and monasteries during your Viking adventures. x to doubt. The vikings was more egalitarian in some aspects such as allowing woman to vote in tings if their man died. But there is little to no evidence saying that women fought on the battlefield in those days if you think about it. It wouldn´t make sense with how much physically weaker women are.
That being said i dont mind wamen in my assasins creed games. But i find it really jarring when they are like half of my raiding party if you think about the brutality of the times and the physical strength needed to fight. It kind of breaks the illusion if you know what im saying.

In medieval times women would fight but it would be when all the men were dead and the choice was having their village burned down and taken as slaves or die on the battlefield.

The worst part is that they already did an amazing femassassins creed game in Liberation.

It was technically more realistic and arguably a better game than 3 as well. It focused way more on stealth and you had to change clothes and the AI reacted differently based on how you dressed and where you were when you were dressed. And they did all that shit with the vita.

Also realistically wouldnt a woman be an easier assassin? Just honeypot and kill. At the very least you have a built-in ally function. Civilians would immediately help if they saw a guard or bouncer beating up a bitch.

Anyways what was the best ubisoft game of the last 5 years?
