Why do moids get so fucking mad when they discover women like the same hobbies as them? Specifically, why do they feel the need to be so territorial over shit that realistically doesn't matter? I've seen this quite a lot in the Warhammer and Comic Book community where any "Foid" fans engaging with the media is accused of only doing so for male validation. It's very obnoxious trying to play a game just to have to wonder whether or not im being judged. Or to simply want to enjoy a comic book or any other non traditionally feminine hobby without being gatekept.

many reasons:
  1. Most women who get into very spastic stuff are usually just there for men, either a boyfriend invited them in or they're looking for lonely men. Not accusing you of this, but this kind of behavior is common enough that women are instantly suspect for doing something that usually guys only do.
  2. Women tend to be more sensitive than men. Male-dominated spaces tend to work by dude-bro culture rules. Banter, trash-talk, and a general disregard for the the effect words have on people's feelings is common since stripping back the social norms that prevent that is comforting. With a woman, many are too sensitive and will take common banter to heart or become offended over it, requiring they police themselves again. Men do not like policing themselves.
  3. Sometimes it is just genuine misogyny, but they're from people you'd expect and not your average person: chudcels.
Also, on the note that it "realistically doesn't matter": for a lot of men, especially young and socially maladjusted men, weird communities like these are their only real social outlets. They've been targeted before by obnoxious, outside actors wishing to police it or change it from the inside. Not saying you are this, but I personally understand and sympathize with some level of the skepticism.

I wasn't exactly referring to the social aspect of the hobby when I meant "realistically it doesnt matter". I more or less meant just women being into the hobby in general. That was a misrepresentation on MY part and I apologize for that.

I do agree there are a lot of performative women in these spaces that make the ones who genuinely just want to stick around and enjoy the space and hobby look absolutely terrible. As for the sensitive thing, yea, that's fair. But I always assumed that most women just shut the fuck up and walk away/log off if they didn't like something. Or maybe Im just a functioning adult. Especially if they aren't a troon or LGBTQwhatever. I understand the level of skepticism, I suppose I wasn't looking at it from that perspective. I appreciate you laying it out this way.

So, how do single men survive? How do men survive when a woman is pregnant and can't have as much sex? How does anyone who's waiting until marriage or NoFap survive? I'm not even hating, I genuinely just don't understand why men seem to view it as such a vital need, compared to women.
The first time I was in prison, I didn't really know the protocol so I didn't scoot for maybe 3 months. Then, one night, I had a dream where I was at a concert and some woman was crowd surfing nude, her business landed on my face in the dream and I skeeted the bed. That poison has to get out of you somehow I guess.

Usually, not finishing for a while results in the man basically thinking about it constantly. Like, it's all they can think about is firing. Normal people stave that off by having a wank, or buying your wife/girlfriend flowers and taking the trash out and stuff.

The comment above about a sexless marriage being a nightmare is spot on. Probably why infidelity is so rampant in the world.

Is it true most of you daydream about rescuing a princess from a tower?
I remember when I was writing and drawing random stories back as a 7 year old, one of them involved a knight going up a tower and fighting various enemies before defeating a dragon. But it's been so long that I forget if he also saved a princess at the end of it or not. Most of my daydreams when I was younger oriented more to fighting hordes of enemies and powerful opponents, primarily because of the vidya I played.

It's gatekeeping. Splitting hairs and being very protective over things that don't really matter is what separates a true fan from a tag-along. It is not that it is important, only the biggest autists care about those specifics, but they are things that a casual fan wouldn't know. People want to weed out the non-engaged people because they feel threatened. Is she there because she really cares about nerdshit, or is she just there for other reasons?

There are plenty of women that are legit into the male oriented hobby, but sometimes I did meet women that weren't there because they cared about it a lot. MMO guilds falling apart because of women (and the men that started acting retarded to get some e-pussy). Videogame tournaments would sometimes have a woman do the casting despite her obviously not being very good. Women getting preferential treatment by game developers. Or you have all women team in league of legends that were allowed in a tournament they were no way qualified for. Those moments raise heckles.

And these people are autists. So instead of just letting you in and telling you to get lost when you are being disruptive and not engaging with the hobby, they will crudely confront you.

I don't agree with the mechanism that this image portrays but the gist of it is there. When companies seek out a larger fan base it necessitates simplifying things or changing things to make them more palatable to a broader audience. Obviously if you like things the way they were you would not be happy with themchanging. So they identify your presence, whether correctly or not, as a harbinger of unwanted change.

I have excess testosterone and I often feel like if I don't get to mate with a moid right this instant I'm going to explode with rage what do? I go through this every 2-3 days
Stop pinning test.
Is it true most of you daydream about rescuing a princess from a tower?
No, mostly I daydream about either going out into the mountains with my pack and rifle and not coming back or going out into the city with my pack and rifle and not coming back. Depends on the day. Really though we do fantasize about protecting the weak from the wicked, it's sort of baked into you when you're stronger than 50-100% of the people you care about; and we have an innate instinct for violence anyway that is largely obsolete in modernity so it's natural to yearn for opportunities to exercise it in a healthy, pro-social way.

Why didn't the soldiers in 28 Days Later just masturbate? It had only been 28 fucking days.
Because 28 Days Later is an exploration of the nature of rage and its place in nature versus civilization first and a zombie movie second, and the writer needed to construct an unjust society to demonstrate the necessity of rage as an answer to tyranny. Also they're British, it's been a lot more than 28 days since they saw attractive women.

The canon answer is that it isn't about sex for it's own sake, they're worried about the future of the human race given that they have no way to reproduce without women. But that's still a stretch of a motive for one month in.

Not qualified to speak on those hobbies specifically because I'm not a nerd but I'd speculate that it has something to do with the fact that women talk a lot more on average than men do. It's perfectly normal for men to do stuff together or just relax together without saying anything to each other for very long stretches of time and women don't seem to be able to do that to the same extent which can get really annoying. It's also just kind of difficult to relax around women because your safety becomes our responsibility, whether explicitly or implicitly; when we walk alone at night we feel fine because we only have to worry about ourselves, but we get stressed out walking with a woman at night because now we have another person to look out for, sort of the inverse of how women feel. Which is fine, it's the natural order of things and rewarding in its own way, but it's something women seem to be unaware of. Also I'd guess that especially with nerd hobbies a sizeable portion of the animosity is actually due to how the presence of a woman makes other men behave; even if you're not a sperg there's a good chance somebody else will be. In any case, men need men-only spaces as much as women need women-only spaces but we're not allowed to have them because it's "sexist" so we get territorial about the ones we have. At least in terms of outdoorsy/survivalist hobbies men will generally be welcoming of women because we're happy to see you raise yourself up but also sort of slow to warm up to you until you demonstrate that you're serious about it. But that applies to men as well.

Yeah I made it as a goof on the "ask mods a question" thread I don't know why it's being used seriously.

But communities like r/NoFap challenge that idea, though I doubt anyone in NoFap is brown. Gooners seem to defend their addiction by saying, "All men are like this" / "What man doesn't watch porn?", but I have come across men that aren't obsessed with gooner shit, and some of them are even anti-porn.
I feel like if you're part of a community like nofap or aggressively anti porn, you care a lot more than most men do.

Anyone who is part of a community, whether advocating for or against masturbation has an unhealthy relationship to sex.

But to answer your question, it is kind of a need to have some form of sexual satisfaction for men on a regular basis. When it comes to masturbation, it's a good stress relief. When it comes to sex with someone, it legit makes you feel good mentally afterwards in a way that is difficult to describe or compare to anything else.

I think your view of men's sexual behavior may be distorted by the vocal majority that inevitably emerges on the internet.

Most men don't talk about jerking off or fucking on the internet at all. And they don't care to disprove the retarded deviants who do.

Also I'd guess that especially with nerd hobbies a sizeable portion of the animosity is actually due to how the presence of a woman makes other men behave; even if you're not a sperg there's a good chance somebody else will be. I understand this. Im not one to put my fellow women down but a lot of hobbies im into attract performative female tourists so it makes the lot of us who were already there and minding our own in the first place look bad. Id love to discuss more about my hobbies with other hobbygoers without being suspected or being a foid looking for attention but I think its better to just live and let live and enjoy silently than to potential impede on someone's space if they clearly dont want me there to discuss.

This was a lot more informative than I thought it would be, honestly. Thank you

I think men blame women for their hobbies turning fake and gay because the people ruining them often claim to be doing it on the behalf of women or are attempting to appeal to them in some way
