Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Seriously though, as someone who was in that boat back in early-mid March just before the lockdowns, I initially thought it was being overhyped at first partly due to the doomers and partly because of usual media sensationalism. I admit, I was kind of wrong on that, but I also think the doomers are batshit insane in their own right.

I'm more concerned about the long-term economic impact of the virus and the overall unknown factor of this disease.



That's because Ashy actually had a personality outside of being a commie, and would occasionally post outside of the usual political hotbed threads on A&H/A&N and Deep Thoughts.

Ashy was cringe in their own right, but was obviously not just a gimmick poster like tuscan.

Lol he always does that. I never was able to figure out exactly which post did it when he did it to me. His mental equilibrium depends on how much access he has had recently to Trent's anus.

Depends on if they use a VPN.

If they don't, presumably mods just check the IP.

If they do, they out themselves by behaving the same.

Corbin escaped detection for over a month despite certain people being perpetually assblasted over him for some reason, until he got a wee bit too upset at a mod again.

I think it would be better if every reference to an ethnic, racial or religious group was wordfiltered to the most offensive possible word for that group.

I think it would be better if it was the word filter for a completely different group so nobody knew who was yelling about what. You'd try to go on a rant about niggers in some Detroit murder thread and everyone would wonder why you're screaming about Jews.
