Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

The fact that we're discussing the two TDS threads here, when they aren't even part of AnH, proves once again that this whole thread should be renamed to Bitching About Others Posters' Politics.

Still, this is a step up from Bitching About Posting Stickers, so I am proud of you all.

It's an election year. Expect the whining to get worse as everyone polarizes and discussion devolves to the lowest common denominator.

We are getting levels of bitching I had not thought possible for AnH. Levels that exceed those of Corbin's most unhinged ramblings.

I dread what is going to happen as the months pass.
 
My biggest problem with this board are all the lolcow posters, they come in and shit up important threads with their """hot""" """takes""" and keep bringing up some gorl named "christine" as if i have any idea who that is.

How can I discuss Isreali conspiracies when people get distracted by "feeding" or "milk"? This situation is direly offensive to me and obviously orchestrated by either the Jews or the Alt Right, depending on whether you prefer TDS or TES threads.

Our Lord and master Null has decided to grace us with a space to sperg about politics and current events without impacting the important work that is talking about lolcows. Don't go overboard. Don't spam. Don't bring _that much_ additional liability to the site. Above all else, keep your autism contained here!
 
It is nothing less than a travesty that my well-thought-out, insightful theories are not allowed in Deep Thoughts just because they ruffle some of the special folks' feathers.

I would like to repeat my suggestion for an explicit rule against mentioning someone's Jewish origins.

Michael Godwin is advocating for the suppression of political speech because- while he advocates for pornography as 'free speech'- his Jewish origin makes him concerned when people talk about Jews. It seems difficult to seriously discuss an article written by Godwin/Goodwin without mentioning that.

Either it should be allowed to discuss political news, or it should not be allowed to discuss political news, or discussion of political news that involves Jews should be banned.
 
Ehhh... I am of two minds.

On the one hand, it is abundantly clear to me that Godwin is being disingenuous in his article, based solely over how he claims calling Trump/his supporters Nazis or whatever is valid (http://archive.ph/pbYHA).

What would make your point valid is if Godwin is on the record as being willing to suppress anti-Semitic speech. If he is, then I would point that out directly.
