Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

It probably wasn't, but everyone in the thread--so I thought until now-- didn't seem to have a problem with it. It's just how the thread flowed for a few pages, but it was on topic, even if it was more personal rather than pointing at Blue Checks on Twitter.

Then you got the other thread trying to take gay and unnecessary potshots at the other thread because "lol boomers xd". Then to top it all, instead of people making fun of exceptional individuals in these respective communities, both of these threads are now filled with some of the most gayest fucking faggotity political takes I've ever read in my life. No one gives a shit about how you don't like Boomers or Republicans nor Millennial or Democrats. TDS thread is slightly worst than the TES thread because those faggots literally write long ass essays about "leftist r evul" or some gay shit instead posting some actual content.

Recognize that the retards you laugh at in either of those threads are the flies who fell for the honey pot, problem solved. I'd say merge them into one thread for surplus political hugbox autism but that'd probably be too difficult to moderate
 
Reading posts about other people hurts my feefees because they aren't writing about me. When can we ban any powerleveling that isn't about me? It is boring to me. Me. Me!!!!

This is inspired by @cat's "Thread Commentaries" thread in the Supporter's board, which is a running commentary on any other thread on the forum. We've recently had a thread on the Andrew Dobson thread, one of my personal favorites, partially because Dobson (as an artist) draws the ire of many artists who will do their own renditions of his art in their own style, showcasing what elements are missing in his originals. This is really entertaining, even to a non-artist like me, because it shows why I don't like something or don't think it's visually appealing. There is a lack of this recently, mostly because people seem to take hating on the exceptional blue bear too seriously.

I'd like more of that kind of introspection, and I give this as a place to be introspective and critical of other parts of the community. Our threads are very diverse and cover a lot of topics, so what constitutes a quality discussion varies a lot.
