Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

No, the real problem is that everyone has a block function on this site that works pretty damn well. This entire argument is exceptional and this "problem" could be solved by a notice on the front page informing everyone how it works, and that if you want to have posters you consistently can't stand scrubbed out of the threads you like, make an account

I guess I'm a little skeptical that's all it is, since I've seen the occassional sperging out because people are saying the wrong things (inside the jewhan virus quarantine zone). It just seems like some of the old guard is getting in a bit of a tissyfit over it, while trying to pretend they don't care that much.

It's a fun site, it's worth caring about. Don't get your panties in a bunch when you hear some jokes or takes that aren't to your taste.

If you're not going to target the offenders, then it's not the offenders that are the target.

Now I don't think they've gotten better by any significant margin since then, but I know for a fact that every other news network has gotten a shit load worse. Nowadays the only difference is that fox leans to the right. And leans is the right word, anyone who thinks they are as right wing as cnn or msnbc is left is deluding themselves - see bombshell for proof. Just make sure you back up anything you get from them with a primary source and you can treat them like anyone else.

Being honest, I was part of the generation that absorbed the idea that it was a terrible cesspool of yellow journalism due to the Daily Show et al ca. 2008. The intervening 10+ years just convinced me that description applied equally to every other outlet, not that Fox was somehow above that description.

They still flop right back to the shenanigans I always hated them for every time some neocon administration official is able to trigger a dustup with Iran to try and force Orange Man to declare the war they've been salivating over since 1979.

Not Fox News in general, I'd say. If you've ever seen Hannity and Carlson, yeah they have strong bias against the opposition, but they're not inclined to defend DJT right away. They are more focused in talking about conservative viewpoints and their opinions on the world. They are not focused on talking about Tramp, they just like to talk their populist and religious viewpoints, which I can respect. The network itself is not exactly pro-Tramp, That's a common myth that spreads around, but they do report on him more fairly than the left-wing media outlets. Fox and Friends is The View for conservatives and even then, it's not even the fucking View. It's a goddamn Good Day New York expy.

Also you use the word boomer too much in your posts. That's the kind of shit that needs to put in moderation.
