Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.
The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.
I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.
It already got resolved dozens of pages back when HK 47 and Secret Asshole were made mods. Ever since then this thread is a place where people whine when their hot takes weren’t received well and assumed the problem is with the forum.
I believed the same until the people bitching got what they wanted and more, and decided it still wasn't good enough.
Reminder that this thread was started over the idea that A&H needed moderation. It's now got two people on that task and it's completely hidden from public viewing. Unless anyone's going to outright say that HK-47 and Secret Asshole aren't doing their duties diligently enough, I don't see how any of the complaints lobbed at A&H now hold any water.
The squeaky wheel still explains that though - forum vets aren't all left wing, they are probably a mix of right and left and centre like everywhere else. But the left leaning vets complain about a&h because it is right leaning and because they had success complaining in the past - hence this thread exists, and its semi-annual explosion. In essence this thread is the answer, it is where righties can refute the arguments put forward for the deletion of a&h. Other answers would require a fundamental change in the thinking of pretty much everyone involved.

From your frame of reference they appear to have gotten what they wanted, but from their perspective A&h still exists, is still right wing, and still leaks into the rest of the forum - they got absolutely nothing. So they went back to bitching about it in private, and because they are friends with null he is there to hear the bitching, and after several months it seems like he hears a lot of bitching about a&h and decides to do something about it.
I'm not saying this is what happened, it's just one way I can see the various principles involved producing this result, and why I think we're at a bit of a stalemate. A right winger isn't going to start lobbying null in the other direction (not saying lefties have been lobbying, just that that's what would be required) and a left winger isn't going to come into a&h to defend themselves to a bunch of assholes who wouldn't listen anyway.
I am assured by @Null's endearing physiognomy and generosity of spirit that he will not capitulate to the Tranny Janny Clique (and @zedkissed60) by deleting A&H. In fact, I am confident he will make A&H public again as the malign influence of the Tranny Janny Clique (and @zedkissed60) diminishes.
Before I make any autistic and grandious suggestions, can someone fill me in on what happened the last time that A&H got deleted and what caused it to be brought back?
Null would most likely be very embaressed if he deleted this place and the situation remained or got worse and I think it would be in both of our intrests to pervent that.

In all fairness, I remember that and it was a good time doxing trannies. Bad time that a lot of the dox were incorrect because people didn't put the work in. It was that one month where Lowtax stayed sober long enough to convince you all that he was cool, right before his inevitable fifteenth freakout.
it was a few days after Null shut down Kiwi Farms over threats Vordrak made, but for some reason even after the site was dead the guy didn't stop, so Null reopened it and vowed to never do anything like that again. terrorism un-won

I don't understand why people are freaking out over the warning about political sperging in lolcow threads. As for me I like A&H because it's a more trustworthy source of news than CNN or MSLSD. Yeah there's a few bad apples in the comments section but that's on literally every other site that doesn't censor everyone. I see it as a warning to contain it nothing more. Hell I don't even notice half the "hurr Durr niggers are black" posts because I generally know bait when I see it.
I don't want to be that guy and screech about muh freezepeach but there is a lot more of it here than almost any other site, and I like it that way. Getting rid of this section won't solve anything, it'll only spread the /pol/ disease to other parts of the board. Containment might be the way to go though.
I don't want to see this place end up like IGN's Vestibule where they're complete left wing exceptional individuals. Up to the point of calling everyone racist and banning people for questioning communism. I doubt it would happen but I do wonder if potential solutions are somehow worse than the actual problem.
Personally I take issue with people who claim that freedom of speech tends to attract racists, but while I can see where they're coming from, I think they're wrong and just looking for an excuse to censor people they don't like. The main misinterpretation seems to be that Null telling edgelords to keep the politisperging in general, and jew sperging in particular, out of the rest of the site is a sign that a subforum banning is imminent. People sick of the current circlejerk dominating A&H smugly suggesting it's right around the corner (myself included, being honest) are probably helping further that misconception.

That's not a bad way to put it, I don't mind /pol/ stuff occasionally but it needs to have a damper put on it. But as I said, a site that is built around freedom of speech always has these kinds of people on it. But maybe that's the point, they seriously have nowhere else to go.
I wonder if they'll blame DA JOOZ if Null does decide to shutter the section? I'm certainly not going back to the IGN Vestibule, that's for sure.
