Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

He does have a point, honestly. It's odd to see his ban becoming blanketed as "He had extremely fringe, right-wing viewpoints" because that wasn't why he was banned at all. We have plenty of users who express significantly more extreme views than Corbin ever did, and yet he's somehow being transformed into A&H's boogieman.

He was never banned because of his views, he was banned because he annoyed Null and then held his own poll to vote for his own ban. Trying to frame his ban as if he was some sort of Weev 2.0 is just disingenuous at best. Corbin's just locked in this strange, perpetual ban because he polled for his own ban and now he's violating that ban by returning repeatedly. It's really more of an odd technicality than anything else.

He got banned for being an absolute legend of a forum lawyer who would try and argue the nuances of every single rule in A&H with the mods at every turn, including making appeal threads for other people without those people even asking for them. He was then so confident that he was beloved on this site he said something to the effect of he'd never get banned if it was up to the userbase. CORRECTION: Null made the poll instead of unilaterally banning him so that no one could say the result was out of his own or a mod's bias. The people spoke, Corbin got b& and now has a martyr complex about it.

He's not being transformed into A&H's boogeyman for his political views, which are as blase, boomer republican as they come, but because he clutters every single thread in the subforum with his inane ramblings, frequently, knowingly derails threads by feeding obvious trolls, and is the first one to screech to staff about "right wing persecution!!!" if someone ever cleans up his latest off-topic tangent.

But I can't help noticing and commenting on the fact that the story keeps changing, and despite what lex says, people keep saying a&h has a big Nazi problem and I was "emblematic". Null didn't ban me for my views, obviously, but lots of people who voted for my ban did.

And yeah, lesson learned, don't be a pest even if you 'know you're right'. It ain't my job to 'fix' moderation problems I perceive, I shouldn't have done all that mod whining.

Weren't you that guy who posted more times per day than most users do in a year on top of constantly making talk to staff threads? If so you absolutely deserved the ban regardless of what your politics are.

My apologies: reviewing the banthread, Null opened the matter up to public vote so that there could be no accusation of bias in your banning. A futile gesture, he should realize by now, since now you're just accusing a secretive cabal of users on top of the mods and Null himself of having it out for you.

Suddenly I just realized, some time ago, the site was compromised. Said person leaked a majority of KF's user IPs publicly. This was before Corbin's ban.

In a way, his ban saved him from knowing even a fraction of his information. I doubt he even has a VPN.
