Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

The worst influx was probably the week after Tarrant, but 8chan was still up and entirely functional at that point. Anyone there who wanted the video already had it, since there were multiple webm versions being posted. So I wouldn't blame 8chan.

You're right that its not a KF problem, its very much just an A&H problem.
 
Every single board on the Farms is just a containment board anyways, that's not unique to A&H. I dread the day that Amberlynn dies because then every single one of those people are going to burst out of her subforum for a new place to lurk and I pray to God that they take an interest in Chantal or the Slatons, otherwise we are going to be inundated by insane women.

Well, I doubt that A&H will, I mean the rest of the board. A&H is mostly a sausage fest.

I'm genuinely confused by this thread, what's stopping lefties from posting here? I'm a damn dirty centrist since poltically speaking I'm all over the fucking place, but I never felt bothered by all the right-wing stuff I've seen posted on A&H.

Hanging out in the Amberlynn subforum has definitely helped me gain a new appreciation for A&H. And the rest of the site.

Nigger you really need to cool your jets. The reason you catch so much flack isn't so much your positions, rather it's because you inevitably escalate each discussion into a flamewar. Take for example your recent spergout in the rezoning discussion, you opened in a hostile fashion and so it really must be incredibly surprising to you that people would respond in kind.

The trouble is, even when you have something reasonable to say, you seem to be unwilling to say it without picking a fight, and once you've picked your fight you seem unable to stop. In that thread people try to get across to you that a primary concern is the combative nature of legislation, but you —preferring to be mad on the internet— instead strawman their arguments and continue to spaz.

This is a you problem my man.

If you can disagree with someone and not rapidly descend into insults, you can do just fine in A&H. If you disagree with someone and immediately start hurling insults because you take a disagreement as a personal attack, A&H is going to be a really frustrating board.

I suppose technically speaking any board on the Farms would be like that, but A&H is naturally going to be centered around the two political "teams" going head-to-head. However, if you had pro-Amberlynn or pro-Chris or pro-DSP people popping into those sub-boards with any serious regularity, it would likewise descend into the same sort of crap-tossing festival. Honestly, I think it might actually be worse.

A&H just seems like it's the worst for in-fighting because it's the most bifurcated sub-forum on the website, where-as every other thread is generally everyone moving in the same direction. IE: "Fuck this person let's make fun of them." If people routinely showed up who opposed each of those sub-forums, I honestly think they'd be worse than A&H by leaps and bounds.

100% Agree. It’s yet another case of someone who is butthurt that their scorching hot takes aren’t treated with the deference and admiration that they feel they deserve. Not sure what can be said to that other than get thicker skin and stop being so impressed with yourself.
 
I'm fine with being flamed lmao.

The board is bad, doesn't mean I don't find it entertaining, if I wasn't enjoying myself I wouldn't be doing it.
