Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Can the ratings in A&H be disabled? everytime i come back i have like 50 of them and i have to look for quotings and interesting stuff like that.
Those reactions are fun in lolcow threads because some people get realy mad.
In A&H its just Dumb or like and i realy dont care.
 
Or just turn notifications off for ratings because who gives a shit? XF2 gives way too many notifications of absolute bullshit that doesn't matter.

I will never know when I'm pinged in a conversation because I'm one of ten thousand users constantly pinged in the conversation currently titled "rape".

Turn off almost everything. Just turned off chat mentions since I hadn't even known you could turn that off.
 
I think people on here see so much crazy stuff they don't realise just how batshit a lot of the A&H comments sound to anyone who doesn't go on 4chan or similar edgelord websites. There are obviously a mix of views but pretty much anyone who mentioned the giant Jewish conspiracy to destroy the white race in real life would be laughed at as some kind of nut even in a conservative southern area. Even Null is saying it's a bit much and he's a white nationalist of sorts.

That said I don't really care if this gets left as a dumpster fire unless we start getting mass murderers posting their exceptional manifestos here.

Are you exceptional? This is fucking Kiwi Farms, the site is mumbled about in the same context as 8chan by the crazy commie troon types. I don't think anybody that hasn't been on a site like that ever ends up here really.

Where did you come here from then friend? Most routes here come through some form of exceptionalism be it left wing or right wing.

I found the place cause of SA for example, it's pretty much the commie version of something like the chans and at one point was a lot like this place is, till people came in shitting it up saying there was too many bad opinions and dogpiling going on and using that to purge anybody the mods or troons didn't like.

Catering to the whinier individuals in this thread will lead to that happening here. It was the same tactics that are being used here that were used there.

If one doesn't show up by natural processes I wouldn't be at all surprised if some "manifesto" is planted. The fake news already had bullshit stories about the Christchurch shooter being a poster here. Or more likely they don't even bother planting a manifesto and just print fake stories about it happening anyway.

A lot of people show up just because their favorite lolcow has a thread here. Some of them just stay in that thread and never go anywhere else.

I was looking for info on DaddyOFive on google and I stumbled in here. It was indeed pretty exceptional. I knew the chans existed and had seen screen shots but I had never been there. I had no idea this board existed prior to finding it on google.

I came here because I thought Chris was funny and read the CWCki. A lot of people came here just because they find some idiot on the internet amusing; I've spoken to several people here who have never used imageboards and can't stand them, though those people have largely left the site now as it has become increasingly occupied by /Pol/ users. @Meowthkip and some other users came from Tumblr of all places originally, again because they just liked mocking some exceptional individuals.

Before the 2016 election there was far less "THE JEWS DID THIS" and it was a fairly apolitical site for laughing at tards.

Oh yeah well I have a bunch of friends that left because it wasn't /pol/tarded enough and they're exactly as real and important as your made up friends you can't mention.

Nigga there's like three people who unironically post about "DA JEWS" in A&H. Molehills aren't mountains, even then you can ignore individual users if you just can't stand their posting and *poof*, never see their posts again.

Seriously. I encounter far more kike shills than based and redpilled people. Something about antisemitism really triggers Americans in particular.
 
Judging by the sheer number of conversations that do not segue into talk about the Jewish Problem, I'd say this place has a very long way to go before it could be called /pol/ 2.0.
