Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Discuss.

New threads should be made like this.

I'm looking for a thread that was posted in A&H about a year or so ago about how a sex offender broke out of prison, prowled around a neighborhood, broke in through a window to attack a child and the kid's dad came in with a baseball bat & chased the sex offender off. The story then leads into the dad being accused by CPS of being the real rapist, his daughter being taken and repeatedly coerced into admitting her dad is the culprit, both the dad and the daughter being labelled as "in denial" when they refuse to capitulate to CPS' narrative, the dad being forced to wear some penis blood measurement device as CPS flashed CSAM images in his face to prove he was a pedo, ect.

I don't recall reading the thread you mentioned and couldn't find anything by searching, but the dick measuring is called penile plethysmography (PPG) or phallometry. That bit of info might make it easier to find the story through a search engine.
I found it.

It seems like there's a really bad problem with XenForo search, where it only scans the title of a thread and not any of the contents? It's shockingly shitty, only outperformed by Google, really.

Oh great! Now the mayor of Chicago "Let's go Brandon" Johnson blame Nixon now!

Blaming Nixon?

By Silvio Canto, Jr.

Chicago had another bloody weekend. And then Mayor Brandon Johnson blamed it on President Richard Nixon, the 37th president of the U.S. This is what he said: “We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes and people mocked President [Lyndon] Johnson and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”

Maybe the mayor forgot about Vietnam, the '68 Democrat convention and the sense of chaos in the country back then.
The Nixon Foundation punched back and I'm glad they did. This is their statement:

“Mayor Johnson’s reference to President Nixon is gratuitous and the facts are not on his side in his characterization of Richard Nixon and the Nixon administration’s civil rights record,” the organization said in a tweet, adding a long list of accomplishments it claims Nixon made in furtherance of civil rights.
“In 1971, the Nixon administration developed a plan to carry out the 1954 SCOTUS decision in Brown v. Board of Education to desegregate all schools in the South. In 1969, 64% of Southern Schools were segregated. By 1974, 8% were segregated. Done effectively and peacefully,” read one example.

“Nixon issued an executive order calling on federal government agencies to apply equal-opportunity policies to every aspect of federal personnel policies and practices,” the foundation continued. “Nixon allocated $12 million for research on sickle-cell anemia, a blood disorder that afflicts one out of every 500 black children, with the hope of decreasing that number.”
And there is a lot more. So let's give the mayor a little homework if he is interested in learning something.

I maintain that non-CatParty use of the tag in articles that do not at least involve cats demands some kind of retribution. There's just no relevance.

I don't know what kind though.
