Shots fired after federal police in Minneapolis struggle to subdue man brandishing gun amid protests, video shows​

Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Thanks so much. Its very hard to find complete footage that is not clipped to deceptively look like ICE attacked out of nowhere and most idiots are commenting just based on that but here in the full unbiased view he clearly rocks up looking for trouble.

Sadly like always, too many people are just going to walk away from this forever just believing the propaganda initial headlines and clips.

I do think it bears skepticism given there are thousands of historical accounts of fucking UFO and ghosts sightings yes.

I would like to see a scientific study that the brain actually prioritizes the stimulation of memory centers during ‘near death’ or death before accepting it as a thing that happens.

Eh, I was in a head on collision and I definitely had the 'life flash' thing happen. I was in my early 20s so it was very brief and unrevealing, but it definitely happened.

Fuck not co-operating with ICE, we've seen Minneapolis cops not protect protestors. That video of the dude being stalked and menaced by a bunch of black block faggots had him call 911 two separate times and being told to fuck off because he was white and being hung up on.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find any peer reviewed science on UFO sightings. Plenty of peer reviewed evidence of near death life reviews.

It's also really easy to get caught up in the details of which gun went off first and who pulled the trigger (if it got pulled at all, lol sig) since that will ultimately matter, but none of that keeps you alive. The correct answer is found before pepper-spray got fired, before anyone scuffled with anyone, and that answer is "don't put yourself in a position to get into physical altercations with law enforcement while packing".

There's been plenty of protests which were entirely peaceful attended by people with much bigger guns and far more of them, but the recurring theme has been them just standing around and not chimping out while armed. Every thing you do to introduce yourself into conflict while armed at a protest is flipping a coin that someone else armed is going to interpret something you do as threatening in context with a gun, and this dude chose 4 or 5 separate coinflips while surrounded by like 6 or 7 armed dudes.

You flip a coin by choosing to show up armed to a protest aligned with people who have repeatedly threatened to start shooting LE agents and some of whom have actually taken shots.
You flip another coin by choosing to take antagonistic posture towards those agents in the first place.
You flip another coin by staying in the middle of an active scuffle that develops as a result of that antagonistic behavior.
You flip another coin every time you even look like you might be grabbing at or trying to touch one of the agents.
You flip another coin every time you look like you are putting your hands in your pockets in the middle of that scuffle.
You flip another coin when you resist detainment with your hands remaining in front of you out of view.

Now multiply each of those coinflips by the number of agents involved in the scuffle at the time.

If you never flip any of those coins, you're still filming from the sidewalk and you don't have to worry about your Sig Saar going off in some agent's hands while he's taking it causing a cascade situation where you get shot repeatedly, or some agent with poor trigger discipline accidentally plugging you during a scuffle, or any of the theories about what actually happened.

That’s just a fucking interview and questionnaire. I need a mapping of brainwave activity during a traumatic event so I can see the person’s brain go ‘gee you know what we should do right now? Think about our whole life and see if maybe we find a way to survive seven through-and-throughs!’

I haven't seen from what this all started from, but if he really did brandish his gun then that explains why so many officers went up to him. I doubt he was "just recording" in the middle of the street.
