Shots fired after federal police in Minneapolis struggle to subdue man brandishing gun amid protests, video shows​

Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

A few things to consider:
-Don't put yourself in a position to be in the middle of a melee with cops while concealed carrying. He wanted to keep filming, but once that pepperspray got flashed he should have been doing everything he could to not be in the middle of anything, instead he got between an agent and and two different agitators.
-What are your arms doing going underneath yourself near front-side pockets: ditch the phone and make like an airplane for fucks sake.
-Once the pepperspray was deployed, everyone in a cubic yard of deployment starts getting hit unless they have a full mask on, which nobody did. This will impair both agents and agitators. It also makes grabbing more difficult because it is slippery stuff. I think this factor is way more important than it's being given credit for.
-I can't hear a thing over all the whistles and noisemaking until the gunshot goes off, even if the agent said he got the gun people may not have been able to hear him.
-320s in particular have a nasty potential to go off in specific circumstances where the trigger is accidentally engaged. Minimal trigger actuation (and I do mean minimal) + slide jostle can be enough because sig is retarded and designed a gun like retards, and then tasked indians with making parts that need consistent tolerances.
-Guns being fired in extremely close quarters like that kind of melee can be very hard to track down in the moment and there's absolutely bodycam of suspects doing stuff like firing when partially controlled by officers while resisting arrest exactly like this. If agents in the melee hear a gun that isn't theirs or anyone above or around them that they can see, the typical assumption given the person they are wrestling with which had a gun they know about, is that the gun somehow got fired, and the reasonable assumption is that the person they're wrestling with fired it.

Putting all of it together, assuming what is jokingly referred to as a "shake awake" event occurred with the suspect's gun after it had been removed, which would be cosistent with the single "pop" followed by a pause and then a magdump from others, the most logical chain of events is agents wrestling while partially pepperspray impaired hearing a gunshot that isn't one of theirs and assuming, because they can't hear the other guy say that they got the gun...or he didn't say he got the gun at all, "oh fuck suspect got their gun out" and start firing.

This will be something easy to prove one way or the other since the agent would know if the pistol went off as he was transporting it.
 
Honestly, even if ICE executed this guy in cold blood I still wouldn't care. As far as I see it, while Trump is a very poor leader and an even worse steward of White America, ultimately this conflict is the first in a very long fight for the future of the White race in America. This is effectively a test to see if even the slightest amount of pushback against browns and their sycophants will be followed through to the end, or if it will be abandoned because some race traitors and browns died. Obviously, a few dead enemies is nothing towards survival against invasion, but White men are the weakest willed men on planet Earth so I wouldn't be surprised if that's enough. Frankly, the response should be even more heavy handed, but that will likely come in the future when things inevitably deteriorate.

If you assume every one of the cops had perfect vision eyes all over the place and all saw him get "disarmed", seeing a Sig removed from a crazy person's rear waist tells them nothing about the Taurus or Glock or knife he might have up front.
