Shots fired after federal police in Minneapolis struggle to subdue man brandishing gun amid protests, video shows​

Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Back years ago a co-worker of my mom was grabbed from behind by a guy after leaving a convenience store, luckily she screamed and some people helped her and the prick ran off. So after that she went and got a gun and a license to carry concealed. She kept a revolver in her purse. Well she got pulled over a few months later and reached into her purse to get her license and the cop saw the gun. He pulled his gun and told her to put her hands up and not to move or he would shoot her. It all got worked out because she complied and followed instructions. That is just how quick things can happen, especially if you don't comply. This of course could have been avoided if the ANTIFA faggot didn't interfere with police getting rapists and murderers out of our country.

I really love how every video just confuses the issue further.

But the latest one definitely shows the room temperature protestor laid hands on at least one ICE agent. Doesn't make the shooting justified, but once that line is crossed all bets are off as to how sideways things might go.

I don't see a righteous shoot and I don't see an execution. I see chaos. Which, of course, is exactly what the people desperate to keep the gigantic fraud network going want most of all.

There's a reason cops scream at each other to turn off the fucking sirens when there's multiple units converging and stopping, because they can't hear each other much less a suspect hear them.

There is no video yet of the confrontation from beginning to end in a full and unobstructed view that I've seen. Until then everybody is believing what they will based on their political tribe.

Personally I think they simply believed he was going for a gun in the flurry of the struggle when it may have actually been knocked or taken out of his hands. Now officers aren't expected to psychically know everything immediately all around them all the time so the shooting still might be considered the fault of the activist. Especially since this job should be handled by local law enforcement instead of being forced onto ICE.

So what it really comes down to who was at fault for starting the physical struggle. And then we're not really arguing about broad Immigration policy anymore but who started the equivalent of a glorified playground shoving match.

Thats whats so sick and broken about the current national dialogue. People are so deluded they think X person throwing the first punch somewhere in some city one day means they've proven beyond a reasonable doubt that we need to import 1000000000000000000000000000 trillion foreign fraudsters. And they won't even wait to find out of X person really did throw that punch to prove we need all those frausters.

There's a side by side earlier in the thread but the video of the disarm itself is here. I don't think anything shows the suspect actually trying to (suicidally) draw it.

You can see him with the gun at :39 and between :40 and :41 you can see smoke leave the barrel as the gun fires. What you can't tell is if the Agent's finger is on the trigger. The agent himself probably didn't even notice.

Exactly why I will not even engage in debate with these retards. Ashley Babbit was killed while unarmed, while a squad of armed police in full tactical gear was coming up the stairs behind her to apprehend the group. Funny part is a member of the group was an ANTIFA retard who was paid by news outlets for footage inside the Capitol.
 
Imo it's not going to matter whether the faggot went for the gun or not. He's actively resisting not fully restrained and a gun is seen on him, it's probably assumed he's going to use it if he gets a .5s chance. He had every opportunity to go all "hands up don't shoot!" way before and after the spray, losing a gunfight you optioned into isn't an execution or murder.
