I wound up being put off from the gameplay sprites vs the promo and main menu sprites.
Especially since the competition doesn't ask for gem purchases that you could get multiple complete games on sale for a fraction of, for A single L2D model of a character that may as well be hentai for how skimpy most of the L2D outfits are from Yostar.
Exusiai was not a bad starter character though and had a neat design
I'm normally not all that bothered by how a game is presented unless it's especially bad, but I understand that it's something others consider a lot when they're also considering sinking money into it. PGR's models and animations are some of the nicest I've seen in a mobile game, but I'm also not paying attention to that a lot since the gameplay and visuals can get very chaotic especially in endgame content like babel tower. As for skins, AK's on average are far less racy than in Azur Lane or Mahjong Soul, but L2D is only available for limited units (and that won't be in global until a later patch).
Anything that adds nothing to the longevity of the actual game and serves only as eye candy is ultimately useless and should be ignored unless one really feels like it's worth the loss of cash. That's just how i feel about micro transactions and the usual AAA game dlcs these days.
No idea what l2d is. Not really a huge gacha gamer. Arknights is fun and i like the lore even if there are some times i look at the art and have to wonder why it feels so different.
Looked at this PGR game too but i never could get into those action type games on the phone. Probably cause my internet is shit and it would lag like a fat kid jogging. Arknights is just the amount of challenging and the tower defense gameplay is something i can enjoy even away from my pc emulator.
This has been a ted talk from your local out of touch boomer.
Oh and Arknights has the best music i've heard in any video game.
I wouldn't recommend pulling Nian's rerun unless you really want her and only her. There's a possiblility that the next event will be the one that has the Dusk/Saga limited banner, and that will have Nian drop five times as likely over other 6* offrates.

In the interest of livening up the thread, I'll post occasional updates from the CN side of things for anyone interested looking into future content. They recently had a stream that showcases their upcoming event, new characters, as well as some new mechanics. Obvious spoilers for content that's about 6 months away from EN server; peruse at your own risk.
(Content starts at the 35 minute mark)
New Event: Dossoles Holiday
Takes place in Dossoles, which is supposed to be analogous to Rio de Janeiro. Looks to be a sporting competition gone awry like in Maria Nearl.
Map gimmicks comprise of rising tides alongside deployable equipment that mitigates the negative effects it has on ops placed on affected tiles. There are also water tiles that require platforms for operators to be deployed on them.
There are special items that gives conditional buffs to operators in the event. Effects can be modified.
New event annihilation stage?
New Operators & Skins
Ch'en the Holungday (6* Boomstick Sniper, Limited) - Looks a lot like Blaze for some reason. Skillset seems to just be a direct upgrade to Executor.
Mizuki (6* Controller Specialist) - Imagine Manticore but able to deal a metric fuckton of damage. That's this guy. Yes, that's a guy.
La Pluma (5* Guard) - Armpit fetishist coomerbait. Comes with self-healing and a skill that lets her attack in a three tile row on up to four enemies at once.
Tequila (5* Guard, Free Unit) - Doesn't seem too remarkable. Will he be able to differentiate himself enough from fellow welfare guard Flamebringer?
Summer skins for Mudrock, Projekt Red, Sideroca, Jaye and Sussurro.
New Mechanics: Operator Archetypes and Module System
Archetypes have clearer distinctions in the game now, which could potentially affect things like challenge mode conditions or CC risks in the future.
Operators can equip modules that are compatible with their class or archetype and these can buff various aspects. Modules drop randomly from stages.
Operators who reach E2 can unlock a special module tailor made for that specific operator. Example: Magellan's special module lets the first drone she summons not count towards the deployed unit limit.
Not all ops get their special module right away. They will be released in batches like operator records. Those who are getting their special module now are support guards and summoner supporters. Special modules might eventually make the regular ones obsolete, but time will tell.
Miscellaneous Things
CC6 is coming soon, likely either alongside or after the summer event.
CN voice acting for SilverAsh, Ch'en, Amiya and Texas. More to follow, but hopefully it's an optional install to prevent the game size from bloating too much.
Buffs for archetypes independent of the module system. Affected archetypes: AoE casters, chain casters, duelist guards and wide range healers.
Operator records for Summer Ch'en, Fang, Specter and Sussurro.
Episode 9: Stormwatch is coming in September.
The Chinese are not pleased about the frequency of limited banners (HG originally promised there would only be 3 a year and this is the 4th). Maybe expect some adjustments and/or free stuff in response to this.

I don't play FGO so I'm not entirely sure, but the general idea seems to be the same. At the very least, you won't have to worry about a module gacha or modules showing up in headhunting for the time being. The only thing I'm wondering is if future content will be made more difficult to compensate for what seems to be direct upgrades. This game has gone over two years since launch without any new upgrade system being added for operators (I don't count Amiya's gimmick or alternate character versions), so I wonder how all of this will affect the balance of the game going forward.

I was liking the difficulty so far. It was more about finding the right characters for the stage and the synergy between operators and their skills than just throwing +10% dmg on everything to win. Hopefully they continue doing good cause this far Arknights has been the most fair gacha i've played (my continued anguish over not getting Surtr not counted).

Another CE over. I hope everyone got what they needed from shop and had fun. Personally i only missed 1 day cause i couldnt handle the attack speed down debuff.
