No it was far more recent. At a fan Q&A meetup in 2017-2018 a GG fan asked the grumps if Jon would ever guest on the show to which Arin said nothing and Dan uncomfortably said something close to "No it's extremely unlikely" to which the crowd of sheeps fans cheered because YASS QUEEN RACISS MAN BAD SLAAAAAAY. Basically Dan and Arin will never let the man who CO-FOUNDED the show come back to guest on one episode because he stated some FBI crime numbers. That was the point where they finally publicly showed they were hostile towards Jon whereas before it was just passive aggressive shit or flat out refusing to acknowledge he ever existed. Read the thread next time before asking questions this was all covered pages ago in this thread

That seems like a stretch. "No it's extremely unlikely" doesn't translate into "this person is racist, so no." I wouldn't classify it as being hostile towards Jon. Hell, I wouldn't even say it was passive aggressive. I think it's back into the territory of barely acknowledging Jon existed, which is par for the course when it comes to Jon. And I mean, it is extremely unlikely since I don't think either Dan/Arin really talk to Jon anymore, not to mention how far away Jon lives/Jon really not expressing any interest in doing Game Grumps or really anything video gaming related at all.

That being said, I don't think it is a stretch to say Arin probably disapproves of Jon's wrongthink, I just don't buy that Arin is hostile towards Jon. Just indifferent. When the Jon stuff first went down, some of his old friends did actually come out and say what he did was wrong/distance himself from him. Even then, I don't remember anything particularly hostile, but they at least took a stance. This is just the same ol' response to Jon related questions they've been giving since Jon first left years ago, before there was any controversy.

Ross reading the comment that said “I preferred old GG before it became liquid,” and him laughing and responding,”now it’s just soylent” fucking got me. Goddamn I hope that was genuine.

(Also dude looks really thin. I didn’t recognize that it was him at first. Is that just the lighting, or is the divorce hitting him that bad? :( )

Nah, Ross has always been a thin American-Australian. Ross probably meant the "soylent" joke.

I mean, given all of their videos over the past few weeks have all been old-folks' board games, and NSMBUD has apparently dipped incredibly far in quality as of late (which is really bad given it's the only long play through on their channel right now), he's not wrong.

It also doesn't help that all of these episodes were recorded 2 months ago before the Super Bowl, so their backlog's just become incredibly outdated.

And it also really doesn't help that the fanbase is still waiting on that VOD for the Skyward Sword finale. And yes, it's the same one that was streamed in early February that was supposed to be out two weeks ago. Which they lost. And then someone else re-uploaded. And then someone else archived it for safekeeping. Both of whom they still haven't credited, despite fan protest. And are still apparently delaying the release of for literally no reason (it's supposed to release tomorrow but God only knows at this point).

...I thought this schedule change was supposed to lighten the workload and stop these fuckups while they focus on other projects; how the shit did things get even worse than they were before!? HOW DO YOU SCREW UP CHECKERS!? IT'S CHECKERS.

I still find it amusing that they mentioned they normally have backups for the recorded livestreams; but - in this one instance - they apparently hadn't. Seriously curious as to why that was.

Major speculation here based on absolutely nothing but my own suspicions, but what if that choice to not have a back up for this last VOD was a deliberate decision on their part (due to Arin's dislike of the game and that Swizzle person TIHYDP seriesof these Zelda livestreams) ; and they're only claiming there was a boo boo made due to a high fan demand for the missing content?

I highly doubt it was self-sabotage. I still don't know how they lost all of that and didn't tell anyone for a month, but I'd chalk that up to laziness more than anything...I mean, I could be wrong, but even if that were the case, I doubt they (or anyone else) would actually care about it that much by the time it finally comes out.

EDIT: Also probably the biggest thing: they really don't care about these videos. They just don't; they've always talked about how they just ignore comments and negative videos on them in their playthroughs, and I have no reason not to believe them.

I think that's the thing that gets under my skin the most when it comes to the Grumps/Arin; how can they call themselves creators if they actively choose to ignore any form of criticism that comes their way. Some of it is - undeniably - people being rude for the sake of being rude; but a good portion of it is genuine criticism, and it's kind of sad to see people as old as they are not being able to tell the difference between insults and constructive feedback.

Imagine how much things would improve if they would accept even a little criticism. But, unfortunately, they never will because they're set on the idea that criticism of any form is inherently negative.

On an entirely separate note:

Because nothing says 'we support female gamers!' better than to have your entire office staff (which largely consists of males) wear cheerleader dresses geared towards gamer girls.

1) Sincerely hoping Arin cleared this idea with the rest of his staff before mentioning this on Twitter. Ross is already on board (he was the first to reply to the company); but no word on what everyone else thinks.

2) If he bothered even reading comments left by actual gamer girls on that company post; he'd see they're not impressed with the new merch - most of the comments voicing annoyance with the fact that women were not involved with the design itself and by the fact it's little more than a cheerleader dress instead of practical gamer clothing (i.e. - like the male merch).

Hey so that stream that was supposed to be uploaded today

It's still not up.

It's March 6th, and several people have already reuploaded it in their absence.

actually what the fuck is going on over there

Instead they uploaded the Dead Rising VOD because...fuck consistency I guess?

WHo wants to watch Arin fag out over his hateboner for Skyward Gourd anyway. It's not like his retarded ass can come up with any real or unique criticism.

I wonder if they figured there's no point in uploading it now because others beat them to the punch (i.e. - uploaded their copies of their stream; thus getting all the views) . If they think they're not going to get as many views as they would have if they uploaded the vid when it was supposed to go up, why bother? Hell, would they be petty enough not to upload a video that fans had to provide for them because it would mean they'd have to give credit to outside sources for pulling their collective asses out of the fire after their own incompetent 'professional' staff got careless and didn't bother getting a backup copy of that final SS VOD?

But, seriously, though - it would be nice if they gave the fans an update on what the hold up is. Their lack of transparency/communication is rather troubling (you'd think they'd have learned by now that leaving things up for fans to speculate on is never a good idea).

Edit: They finally have it up. Apparently, there was a 'miscommunication' on when it was supposed to be uploaded. No idea if they credited the fan(s) that came to their rescue.

https://youtu.be/_EpkzBeZJYM they releaded sky ward sword. dont think they credited the person who they got the stream from though. which is odd it should be easy just record a few extra seconds at the start or end of the video saying. X did this for us and we thank him it would be such a minor.Edit that they wouldnt even need to have one of their editors do it they could probably do it themselves.
EDit sorry it was apparently my mistake for not looking in the community tab I looked and I found that they did credit the person who saved their video they just didn't put tabs on the video itself or links.

Or, at the very least, leave credit in the video description.

sorry that was my bad they did in fact credit them just not in the video they did It in the community tab. just thought you should know im willing to say when I make mistakes and give arin his due.

More like Allie gets the credit on this one - as she's the social media person who is most likely in charge of these things. Either her, or whoever uploads the content (probably Matt and Ryan, as they edit the videos)

I just think the credit should have been put as text on the video itself (edited in) or put in the description box - both places standing a better chance at the credit being properly seen than on the community thread that doesn't get anywhere near the same amount of traffic the video itself would.

Arin gets put into more Sonic related things. As an :autistic: Sonic fan I hate to see a man who does not like Sonic and hates 98% of Sonic games record music for them. He's not even a good vocalist.
It also doesn't make sense since Sonic fans and Grumps fans don't intersect very much...because how much he hates on Sonic himself!

"A guest appearance is unlikely" =/= disowning. A guest appearance was always about as unlikely to happen as Arin suddenly developing an actual chin or proclaiming his undying love for Ocarina of Time. There was no sudden about-face regardless of how you or other fans interpreted that response.

It's also hilariously disingenuous for you pretend that JonTron's talk about Black crime (most of which was not actually correct; he pulled those so-called FBI statistics directly from his anus) was the only controversial thing he said. Did you conveniently forget that he also defended ethnostates, Steve King, Marine Le Pen, and European colonialism in Africa or did you leave out these little details to make your idol look better?
